Default Appetite Stimulators?

Hi all,

I was wondering if there is a supplement out there that opens and or increases ones appetite. I have found myself losing weight and it's because I'm not eating as much. I don't have an appetite at all. Tried smoking some grass, no luck. I'm even considering using some EQ, but would rather not use an AS. Is there anything out there that can help me? Thanks in advance!

/Victor

Highly unusual for a healthy male. Might want to get this checked by a doctor. Could have some endocrine system disorder. I can't imagine not being hungry!

I suffer from mild anxiety attacks rather often (hypertension), for many many years now. I've learned to deal with it but when I get attacks, I have no appetite what so ever. And when I don't eat, I get painful stomach aches. Pain goes away if I eat, but it's really difficult to eat when my body is numb and have difficulty breathing and swallowing. Been to several docs, I'm stuck like this for life it seems.

Sorry to hear this There are things you can do to fight off anxiety. Try looking up some deep breathing techniques and other relaxation techniques.

Rather than taking pills which can knock your metabolism off and ruin your exercise performance/build, why not try to eat by habit rather than by what your body is telling you to eat.

I have my body worked to such an extent now that I know to within about 100 calories what I need to eat to give me the energy for the day and to recover.

The trick is keeping TWO exercise logs each with two side-by-side pages.

First one is a historical record: Left side keep a list of the exercise per day, right side what you've eaten and drunk on those days.

Second one is an exercise plan: Plan at least one day ahead for what you're going to do. Left side with what you plan for tomorrow, right side with what you need to eat to give your body the nutrients it needs for that exercise. Once you have your plan, keep to it and eat to that plan regardless of what your brain/stomach is telling you to do.

Sounds like a lot of work but within a few weeks your body will get the habit and you'll do it unconsciously regardless of your actual appetite.

Don't think this will work? Have you tried it?

A long-term second benefit is that you'll build a great understanding of what YOU need from food for your own progress.

Wow... all I have to do is get out of bed in the morning and my appetite is plenty stimulated.

Seriously though... I would think there has to be a medical side to this. Have you gone to the same doctor all the time? If so, it might be worth getting a second opinion.

And if you are having anxiety that bad, you might want to see a therapist and/or psychologist because there could be a bio-chemical aspect to it and meds might help.

Good luck.

Thanks for all your suggestions guys. I've been there and done all of that and have seen many many doctors, natural healers, yoga, etc. I was prescribed lots of meds, I've had almost every benzo possible to help, and it does help. As a matter of fact, any kind of benzo used to get me hungry 20 minutes after I took a dose. This is no longer the case.

I know for a fact that if I could put food in my stomach, I wouldn't have these stomach pains that soon turn into panic attacks. I just can't put food in my mouth without feeling sick sometimes. My father is the same way. He started having these problems after he returned home from Vietnam. I've had many docs tell me that this could possibly be because of the exposure of Agent Orange that my father had come in contact with, I do have spinal bifida because of that. It was proven that those who were exposed to this chemical, had offspring that sometimes had spinal bifida.

I did some other research and I'm going to try this stuff called "black hole". Sounds like it may work for me, but I don't know, gona give it a go. Here is the description....

Appetite Enhancement Formula

Eat; It’s what all the guys in the gym tell you to do. If you want to get big there is no shortcut, no easy way out. You need to eat and you need to eat a lot. Most people find it hard to consume more than a few thousand calories per day. There is a good reason for that; your body uses hormones to tell your brain “stop eating, you already have enough calories for now”. You try to stuff yourself even more but you end up feeling sick; again it’s the hormones trying to physically make you stop at this point. These hormones are acting in most people’s best interest: people who are obese and do not exercise. However if you are eating clean and you are using all of these calories then it’s not helping you in any way, shape or form. What if there is a way to effectively stop these hormones from keeping you from eating, from your goals and dreams of packing on quality lean muscle mass? Now there is. Black Hole™ from Controlled Labs uses naturally occurring alkylamides to fool the brain into believing that you haven’t eaten enough calories and you need more food. Sound good? Then read on…

Key Attributes:

* Fast Absorption/Fast Acting
* Eat More Than Ever Before
* Helps Indirectly Add Lean Mass
* Legal, Safe, and Effective for Both Men and Women
* Stimulate Metabolism to Reduce Body Fat
* Natural Digestive Aids for Increased Calories
* Also Acts as a Natural Pain and Joint Supplement

Non-Psychoactive Cannabinomimetic Alkylamides™ Complex:

Everyone knows that marijuana makes you hungry. So how does an athlete or bodybuilder increase their appetite naturally without having to deal with an illegal drug? Well, if there were a chemical that was physically similar to the active ingredient in marijuana, THC, then it could potentially activate the same receptors and elicit the increased hunger response. There just so happens to be a group of alkylamides that act as cannabinomimetics and mimic cannabinoids in structure and bind to their receptors, the CB1 and CB2, which are part of the G-protein-coupled-receptor group. These receptors are located in the brain and around the body. They are in charge of many different functions including, but not limited to, appetite (increased and decreased), immune system function, anti-inflammatory response and euphoric pleasure.

The next step was to look for herbs that contained these alkylamides that mimic the structure of cannabinoids. The two herbs that showed the greatest promise were Echinacea Purpurea and Spilanthes Acmella. Both of these herbs contain many different alkylamides, but recent clinical information has shown that there are 3 in particular that have a high affinity for binding to both the CB1 and CB2 receptors. Dodeca-2E,4E,8Z,10Z/E-tetraenoic acid isobutylamide and dodeca-2E,4E-dienoic acid isobutylamide from the Echinacea herb and undeca-2E,7Z,9E-trienoic acid isobutylamide from the Spilanthes herb, found in a precise blend in Black Hole™, could be used to mimic the herbal cannabinoids found in marijuana, and more importantly, the endogenous cannabinoids found in the human body, including anandamide. Not only does the clinical information show that they can mimic them, but they can even bind to the receptors for a longer period of time than can the other two types. This means that Black Hole™ will help produce hunger stimulating effects potentially greater than anything you have experienced before.

The oral bioavailability of these alkylamides has also been shown to be extremely high in human studies, so they will make it to the receptors without getting degraded by the gastric juices and/or the liver. Because the alkylamides bind to both the CB1 and CB2 receptors, Black Hole™ can also potentially help with anti-inflammatory response and better immune system function over the long term.

So what do you guys think? I'm out of options so I'm willing to try most anything right now. I will say one thing, I used AS in the past and when I was on (and had Equipoise) I didn't have any problems. I was eating like I had 7 asses. 3-4 weeks after I was done, it started coming back. ARGH!

arent you currently on a AAS cycle? if you are why not just add the EQ back in? 1 more added in the stack wont hurt. keep the dosage mild enough to just stimulate appetite if anything.

Nope. I just finished clomids weeks ago. I'm really looking forward to waiting another month or so to start again. Going with EQ, test, and decca this time around. More EQ than decca though. I wonder if I just run low doses of EQ....say 200mg a week with 25mg of proviron? Would I have to do anything for post?
