From what I have read, CLA is alright as a 'lifestyle' supplement. In other words, it's not going to be very effective in a short-term fat loss blitz. It appears to have an effect when taken over a longer period of time. E.g. the test group taking CLA lost 3.4 lbs more than the control group over 1 year or something.
I have used it a bit in the past, but not long enough to make a call on the efficacy. They might have heart benefits above and beyond weight loss.
If you can get them inexpensively enough, it might be a good addition to your supplements, but I'd only recommend them if you have the staples covered (protein, multivitamin, fish oil).
