Hair!
Hey all!
I apoligize in advance if this sounds at all superficial or 'bimbo-esque' to anybody, but does anybody have any advice for me on this topic?
I am a swimming instructor and I spend nearly everday in the pool. My question is: are there any ways to protect your hair whilst in the pool swimming OTHER than those plastic caps? Or are there any special hair conditioners or treatments anyone can reccomend? Because I really want to grow my hair our but I find the chlorine tangles it up a lot and may cause a lot of damage and split ends.
So if anyone has any secret tips, I would apreciate if you could confide in me!

The girls I swam with in college always either:
1. didn't do anything, allowing their hair to turn into a straw-like substance over a period of time, OR
2. used a specific shampoo and/or conditioner to combat the effects of the chlorine. UltraSwim is a popular brand, and I've heard of one called ChlorOff too. You could get them either online or in a swimming specific store.
We guys never really worried about it- all the hair comes off at the big meets anyway...

Hiya
My stepdaughter is mixed race and has afro hair and trust me that can get in a right tangle, anyways she swears by the "leave in conditioner" it helps a million trust me. Makes your hair extremely easy to comb/brush through. Not sure which brand it is but i should think there all similar. I think its VO5 but im guessing lol.

Hi, I have been in the business for about 20yrs. have seen it all. If you put conditioner in your hair before you go in the water (not necessarily a leave in one), it will help your hair from absorbing to much chlorine. Kinda like a sponge that is full of water, it can only absorb so much. This will help the hair from getting worse. There are also shampoos that will take chlorine out. (almost every brand has them) Paul Mitchell, Matrix etc. good luck with this.
