Should i wear speedos when we go to the beach?

Im just wondering, is it ok if i wear speedos when we go swimming?

at first, i dont know if its ok if iwere speedos cause i thought it will look bad on me. im just 11 and here is my details: my skin color is brown, im 5 foot 3 in height. I didnt think it would fit and im also shy of what my mom would tell me when i wear it and i think i could not stand seeing me in public just with my underpants. Please Help me here.

Since there haven't been many responses, I guess I'll go ahead and say my opinion.... Speedos are fine in serious swim competitions/training and other times when it is required attire. Generally, on the beach or just hanging out at a pool, most people opt for swim trunks / surf shorts. My personal preference is guys should go for the regular swim trunks (unless you have a real reason for wearing a speedo, like competition).

Really, you should do what you want, though. It's all personal preference.

NO MAN you absoultly cant wear speedos at the beach!!! Those things should be outlawed!!! Nothing worse than being at the beach and some dude in a banana hammock whats by with his balls ready to fal out the side of his shorts. You can do what you want but I would strongly recomend against it

You catch the details of his post? I doubt balls are an issue.

Speedos dont look good on anyone, if you want to show off on the beach just go bare-### chicks dig confidence.

Funny how this topic always elicits such strong opinions. At least no one is proposing to wear a manthong. =P

Well dude, wear what you want. I don't know what the social norms are like in Manila, but since you felt compelled to post, I'm guessing they're similar to North America. In my opinion, it comes down to your reasons for wearing. If you're going to swim, I'd try it out and see if you think it's better. You can always put on shorts after you get out of the water. If it's to get attention, then I don't think it's a good idea. Bottom line is that you shouldn't care what other people think, within reason.

Speedos are great to wear when you swim. (I was into competition swimming for almost 10 years). If you have a little swimmingskills, swimming in shorts is like towing a parachute in comparing with competitionstyle speedos. (Yes I have worn ut several of them).
However, I use a shorts if Im going to the beach when the main purpose is sun and bathing, not training.

i woudl wear those shorts liek speedos. other than that i dont mind dudes wearing speedos as long asa there junk arent haning out or if there chubby and junk. i find it funny though that the us is pretty much the only place that have ment hat dont wear speedos to the beach but go to brazil or somehting and you got dudes all over the place speeding it up.

** like i said before, from a woman's point of view, I'd prefer not to see speedos unless they are necessary (like swimming competition)

I'm sure they dont look bad Austin, wear whatever you want to wear and whatever makes you feel comfortable. Dont worry one iota about what anyone else says or thinks! And you never know, they may say or think it looks great

f you're worried about your parents its easy! just go "I really want to wear these to the beach, if it makes you feel uncomfortable in any way then we can talk about it if you'd like"

They'll be happy with your maturity and realise that your smart enough to make a decision and be confident with it

it goes for anything, not just wearing speedos. ok?

I guess it depends where you are, for example in Brazil, speedos or sungas are the rule. Period.
