Default Suggestions?

Hi... I am 15 and new to weight training. I am 5'11", and weigh 160 pounds. I have lifted weights a while ago, and it did definitley make a difference in size and strength for me, but it's been over a year before I've done anything like that and I'm interested in getting back into it and sticking with it. I asked a couple of guys from my football team (one is a former Packers player's son) and a lot of them say that taking protein powder helps a lot to increase gains and everything... so I went to GNC and bought Muscletech's "Nitro-Tech" chocolate protein powder. I have been reading a lot on the internet about building mass and strength, but everything I find is geared towards people who take tons of supplements and have tons of time to work out... all I have is knock-off bowflex machine (a Weider I think?). I am interested in getting bigger, stronger, and faster so I was wondering what kind of suggestions people might have for somebody in my exact situation...? (When to take protein, what kind, how much, when to workout, how to workout efficiently, stretching, etc.)
ANY input is EXTREMELY appreciated.
Thanks

Hi, welcome to the forums.
I myself am 15, and just started weight training a couple months ago.
I use whey protein powder, and it's supposed to help in muscle growth...so far I dont notice it, but then again I've only been taking it a month or so.
If I were you I wouldn't be too worried about bulking up, you sound pretty big for your age anyways.
If you are looking to gain just pure weight you can always increase you caloric intake or take weight gaining powder.
There are always some products that you can take to help make you stronger, and bigge...but you have to decide if its worth potentially messing up your body.
With weight trainging, and whey protein, you should be on the road to getting stronger and bigger.

thanks for the reply
yeah I'm not so much wanting just to neccessarily put on weight, I just want to start getting bigger, and stronger, and faster, etc. and I understand obviously to get bigger and stronger you're going to be getting heavier. I'm just wondering how and what the best ways to get there are.
Thanks again

i dont think you necessarily need the powder just yet as you are still young and are a beginner in general to weight training

do what you can do on the equipment you have, use these websites to see if you can do any of these exercises
http://www.exrx.net/Lists/Directory.html
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/exercises.htm

other than that you can still do alot of bpdyweight exercises:
pushups
pull ups
dips
squats
calve raises
