This sounds normal. Most people have to go Number Two in the mornings. I myself usually have to 2 to 4 hours after I wake up.

According to the title you gave this thread, you make it seem as if you experience pain or discomfort in your stomach. If this is the case, then you should definitely make a trip to your doctor right away.

Hi shadow. What does your daily diet consist of? This may give us a little more insight into what may be causing the problem. As far as having a BM in the morning, as Insex stated, thats normal for most. That says your digestive system is working. Although by your last comment it sounds as if it may be working a little too good.

That could be part of the problem. It sounds as if you're doing most of your eating in the evening or second half of the day which might explain your morning ritual. If you're eating snacks that are acidic such as salsa with chips, and fruits such as oranges and grapefruits or if you're eating snacks that are high in fiber or a combination of the two, this might also explain what's going on. The upset stomach might be gas pains associated with the work the digestive system is doing. Without knowing some specifics about what you eat, the only thing I can suggest is to get on a more structured diet. Start by eating a good breakfast. If your mother was like mine, she was right when she said breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Then have a mid morning snack, lunch, a mid afternoon snack and dinner all in moderation. I'm not a big fan of eating a snack after dinner simply because that while you're sleeping, your body doesn't burn many calories per hour and eventually it may lead to undesirable weight gain. Their are a lot of threads on this site devoted to proper eating so do a little exploring to find out what to eat. During this restructuring, your body may go a little haywire at first while it adjusts to the new way. Try to have some patience if this happens. Good luck.

Yes, improve your diet. But I've found when you start eating better your problem you discribe will still occur for at least a week. The body goes into a little bit of a shock when you start putting good stuff in and not junk food. It like knows to get rid of the junk and says "Hey, now this is more like it, time to get rid of this crap (literaly) I've been holding on to.

Also, what about dairy products? Milk, cheese, ice cream. Do you have them in the evening? I have a slight intolerance to dairy. If I have any within an hour of bedtime, I get some brutal dierea. But mine tends to hit about 1 or 2 am.

You probibly don't wanna hear this, but you're gonna have to eat broccoli. Lots of fiber, makes your turds firm.

And as you get older, droping the kids off at the pool is a morning ritual.
