Approx one month ago I switched from IE to firefox as well (experienced plenty of crashes when browsing at EF) and don´t have this problem (Firefox v1.0.4), though sometimes the script in chat crashes. Try downloading the player from macromedia again. Save it to disk and then install, but better go for version 7, b/c it appears to be more stable for FF.

Dammit I cant log into chat again! Firefox had to many probs so I switched back to IE today and when I go into the chatroom the whole page is white and all i see is a little red x in the top left corner. Can anyone help me now?

Sorry Dave, can't really help you with the technical side, but I am using FF 1.0.7 and I just tried and got into chat. Don't know about IE, have not tried it.

I don't have any extentions installed. (tools/extentions)

If you type in "about:plugins" where you type in a URL it will tell you what plugins are installed. The folowing is the entry for Flash

Shockwave Flash
File name: NPSWF32.dll
Shockwave Flash 7.0 r19
MIME Type Description Suffixes Enabled
application/x-shockwave-flash Macromedia Flash movie swf Yes

That about:plugins thing must only work with firefox cause on IE it says page cannot be displayed

do this.

open up my computer

go to
c:\windows\downloaded program files\

now expand it out so that you can see the status column

do you see anythign that is "Damaged" or is everything marked "installed"

also clean out your cache. lemme know

if anything is damaged, right click and delete.

then all the other ones, highlight, right click, UPDATE.

if flash is damaged, blow that off too
reisntall then. that should get you working

with the new firefox upgrade, flash doesn't work, I downloaded netscape 8.0 browser to get flash chat to work. here's the link http://browser.netscape.com/ns8/
I'm pretty happy with the new browser. I've been using it for a few months now

Dave, first of all get rid of the old plugin.

Then get your PC up-to-date by installing all important Windows updates from Microsoft website.

Please ensure that you have Java enabled within you browser. To check this, just go to 'Internet Options' under 'View' on the to toolbar and then to 'Advanced'.

Under the heading Java VM you will find the follow selections, Java Console Enabled, Java JIT Compiler Enabled and Java Logging Enabled. To enable you to view all Java content, make sure that all three of these are selected.

Also check whether your Internet Explorer Security Settings are not set to HIGH.

Install the plugin once again.

Then either enjoy your time in chat or format HDD and reinstall everything from the scratch (or wait for some other suggestions

)
