how do I put a signature on a post?

How do I put a signature on my postings?(without typing it in that is

) When I joined i'm sure it gave me the option when creating my profile but I skipped it, now I want to and have gone to 'edit profile' but the option isnt there

and yes yes I know probably a dumb question but I can't find the option to edit it anywhere so gotta ask havent i

It should be under the user cp thing at the top of the page. I wasn't able to put a signature on until recently so their might be some sort of "right of passage" that you must acquire.

Yes Yes I know should use the 'thanks' button for this and I usually do

except that you are not allowed to have an avatar (read the Avatar/Signature Policy in the Announcement atop every forum) until you've become a "member of distinction". Sorry !

have just now checked again and am still getting the option for an avatar, why's that?

Oh it's easy. You go to the lower left corner of tidalwave's post, click on that small button in the corner - it looks like a checkmark and an X... A small box will pop-out. Click the large button on the bottom of that pop-out.

Voilà!
