*taps on glass* hello.... anyone still looking in here?
As a bit of feedback, would it be possible for you to remove the "fitness babes" forum from the Most Recent Topics and Other Forum Activity bits at the top of the forum pages please? It's getting hard at times to see all the new genuine fitness posts for all the "fitness babes" threads and posts.
Thanks

Bump...
This morning the entire "recent topics" thing was Fitness Babes. Very nice they may be but they're certainly nowhere near my top thing-to-do when I log on here.

I like the list of girls, though if there were an opt-in/opt-out choice it would solve the dilemma for everyone.
At least I'm disagreeing with wil again, though.

yeah, I was starting to get that Ghostbusters vibe... "dogs and cats living together, Pliny and Wil agreeing on something, MASS HYSTERIA..."

when i said last year that the forum had become nothing but dude's posting nudie pics and there was little to no fitness discussion, a fitness articles section then started to get blasted with write ups and posts from who knows what, and the nudie pics remained.

Maybe, a toggle can be added. The user can choose between most recent "topics" and "Visuals" break up the base threads to match these two, and let us set our personal settings to show the one we're most interted in... Power to the people, ooops sorry....

As far as I know, the vBulletin software doesn't allow for the sort of tuning that has been mentioned.
But, if anyone knows of something different, let the management know, please.

I do recall that mooshue, but if memory serves me you were challenged to bring forth some constructive 'repair' ideas for your complaints, but instead gave insult. I will say that this issue seems to be more prevalent nowadays as compared to then. Didn't really notice then so much, but as ckn has already pointed out the entire homepage gets filled quickly with nothing but.
I wonder if maybe there could be a different way of displaying the 'babes', like maybe a link to in one's user CP, then you could ensure that people have to at least sign in to see them, and for others to become a member.....make it a 'perk' to members so that EF forums are the reasons for coming here and not just the babes....otherwise, I would have to agree with mooshue on the direction of the site seems to be headed....even make it a "big dog' priveledge only viewed by the dogs in that forum.......the others have to 'earn' their way to the babe's section by posting more fitness oriented material........just my .0257 cents

while i most likely gave an insult, i also took it a step further and routed several people to places that do on a consistent basis discuss bodybuilding and fitness. I am not going to waste my time and everyone else's here who clearly doesn't want to read that kind of stuff copying and pasting other forums info in here. I have given up and just use this as sort of a community of friends where i can give a lighter side opinion of whatever goofy topics come about
If a real fitness related post comes up where i can actually weigh in i will, otherwise i will just insult you and blame bush for wil so long as i can skim through all the warcraft junkie nudie pic jackers posts.
problem with your last solution though lizzy, there are countless memeber, FF you can probably run a vbulliton canned report on how many visit daily and never make a peep or only post in the nudie section and are only here for that very reason.

You know what's sort of funny about the whole babe's thing here, is that as has already been stated it seems to take up a majority of the site. Being a female and posting in my journal and anywhere else I wish to share my .02cents (obviously not in the babe's section) I tend to stick to the usuals....journal's, the cafe, relationships and I love reading up on other's journals and people's political views as well. My DH, on the other hand who is totally unfamilliar with this site only see's the 'babes' on the home page as we all do. He has OFTEN made jokes to the effect that I am looking at the 'babes' myself and that maybe I have some sexual identity issues, lol!! He is joking, this I know, but I certainly could see how anybody could assume that a female/male would be here just for the babes (or happens to be one of the babes) themselves. Seinfeld moment *NOT THAT THERE'S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT* But it really isn't me.....
Do you get where I coming from with this?! That if people aren't here for a specific reason (fitness, friends, info, on-line training clientele etc) then one would easily assume that this site is purely about the babes......and what does that say to anybody about the people who come to this site?! It's about advertising, and what exactly are we advertising here?
Just sayin'

i've done a little reading on vbulliton hacks, and i can't really find anything that will separate a section out other than being a members only type section like big dogs. I have no idea what version or even type of bb this place is so i can't really chime in too technical, but unless im missing a hack i don't see a way around this other than making the babes section a hidden/members only or moving it to it's very own bb.

Maybe y'all just need to change your Bookmarks, so that you go directly to the forums you most prefer.
Rather than setting Extreme Fitness - The online fitness discussion forums for bodybuilding, marathons, bicycling, triathlons, IronMan and other Extreme Sports! as the default, how about trying one of these instead?
Training - Extreme Fitness
Women's Fitness Discussions - Extreme Fitness
Supplements & Drugs - Extreme Fitness
Health & Nutrition - Extreme Fitness
Extreme Fitness Cafe - Extreme Fitness
Seriously.... do you really think a website that's owned by a guy named FitnessPhotos isn't going to have a "feature forum" that's focused (no pun intended) on photographic images?
We've dealt with this topic before. There's actually a real simple solution if you don't like those I started this post with.

Considering how little activity there is today on this board, compared to say 4 years ago, I would really not suggest separating the forums anymore. As Brucie mentioned, we have been there, done this before...
If it ain't broke, don't fix it...

"none of us"?
"we all"?
Maybe you missed how my suggestion would work for you. Let's say your favorite area is "Supplements and Drugs": if your bookmark is set for www,extremefitness,com/forum/supplements-drugs/, then each time you arrive, you're taken to that forum and can instantly see what's new since your last visit. If there is something new, the icon on the far left hand side of your desired subforum (let's just say it's Medications) will be lit up; if there's nothing new since your last visit, it will be dim.
Did you know that on the forums home page www,extremefitness,com/forum/, you can minimize the areas you don't care about, simply by clicking on an icon over on the far right hand side of that forum's header? Look for a small - sign if you don't have it minimized, or a + sign if it is. Click on the - sign, and instantly that forum's selection menu folds itself up, out of your immediate view. A cookie gets set when you quit the forum (but not if you "log out") and when you return, your computer remembers what you'd done the last time you visited our site, and you don't have to see anything you don't want.
It seems to me that only looking at "Recent Threads" is more of what you call "skimming" than what I've suggested.
Or maybe you could just ignore what's not of interest to you?
