The Missing Viewers

I think something is not ok with the thread views option on FB forum, or i'm wrong? If you guys don't like our posts anymore just tell us, no problem.

I'm not sure how to respond. Love the FB threads, visit them almost every day. I for one enjoy posts of natural, athletic women and hit the thanks button regularly. I will admit that I like the rules change where non-picture "Comment" posts are discouraged. I don't see where seven posts of "Dude she's hot" followed by " major HOTNESS" add quality to the threads.

My opinion changes however in a thread where the poster is the model herself. In these threads I believe that respectful inteligent feedback should be encouraged. Self posters deserve to recieve the acollades earned through hard work.

I would hate to see you stop posting, You have given many truely admirable athletes a bit of notoriety. Thanks

ghost_wolf, there was a spam attack (a ton of posts by one individual/bot advertising some doctor) last night/this morning. It may well be that the number of views was a casualty of the clean up of that attack.

Certainly, I noted one thread in the forum that I visited this morning is showing 0 views just now.

Yes, i know about the spam thing, but its nothing to do with the counts. It started couple days ago, i think. Check out a new thread by O'B - Breanne Seward, was posted on Aug 9th, and it shows 1 views.

Yes many post are not counting # of views while others are... not a big deal and I'm sure FitnessPhotos will straighten it out when he can.

are you people talking about the column to the far right hand side of a forum's "home page" where the total number of thread views is tallied? That's working fine.

If that's not what you are talking about, then what exactly are you talking about?

And why is the number of thread views a valuable piece of information?

It's an ego thing! If views to a thread you created = 1 and you're that only viewer it doesn't half make you wonder if people are reading your stuff.

On another site I moderate, we turned the thread "view count" calculation to hourly to cut down on the workload on the server. This led to a good few threads having 0 views but having replies and to a good bit of confusion.

I beg to differ

......In the Women's Journal section, my journal thread has been stuck at 3203 views since the start of August......I have NOT been the only single poster in my thread since then either.....
It is in a sense as ckn said, an ego thing.....but it is also very much a motivating factor for posting at all....why bother coming around, if we feel we are boring y'all to tears, lol!

But as I said b4, I'm not really taking it personal or whatever.....my main reason for having a journal here is that I am an on-line client of Linda Cusmano's and it is a way for her to keep tabs on her programs and their effect etc.....but I wouldn't even be able to tell IF she's been in just to read either if she's not signed in.....so whateva, I'm just sayin'

Not complaining but I'm sure this is a simple software issue ... and just a matter of turning it back on. Not of major importance but it has been dysfunctional for almost 2 months now.

MANY THANKS to the 'Powers That Be' for fixing my counter.....now I don't have to feel as though I'm talking only to myself in my journal!! I knew I wasn't but just makes ya feel better knowing somebody's out there reading it, lol!! Thanks again!
