Best App for handling Rapidshare Links
Hi Everyone:
This is my first thread, and just wanted to say this board is GREAT!
I wasn't sure if this was the best place to post this, but this is probably where it would do the most good.
I noticed there's some frustration about using the Rapidshare links. Here's an app I use to queue up and download dozens of Rapidshare links automatically!
It's free, works great, and there's no adware/spyware.
It's called Universal Share Downloader, you can get it at:
http://www.dimonius.ru/PROG/USDownloader13b5.zip
Just install it, copy the Rapidshare URLs into it and just let it run. I usually just queue up the links and let it go overnight.
Hope this helps some of you!
Guybow
PS: This is working great to snag all the Ironman and Fembomb vidz!

Works like any other download accelerator since you have to insert direct download links, not URLs. I´d prefer Flashget or IDM. There you can set up a queue as well and specify number of simultaneous downloads. Moreover dl speed is boosted because you leech from multiple nods.
I´m glad that you care so much about Ironman vids. Does anybody know about program that will do the following sequence automatically: sending DVDs or VHS, decompressing, riping / editing, recompressing, naming them, hosting on RS, making / hosting previes, copying the links and posting some description?

yeah it's called Pikran, and I hear it's freeware and takes up almost no space on your HD.

I have been using PIKRAN for several months now. It is pretty good except for the overly verbose user interface.

Pikran 2.0 should be out soon, looking forward to it... The developers promise to reduce the verbosity and introduce a 'point and click' interface...

At Jimmy's recommendation, I used the Universal Share Downloader this weekend with 6 megaupload links (i have a rs premium account). It worked like a charm. Usually I can only d/l one file at a time from MU, the USD facilitated at least 3 simultaneous downloads with no apparent loss of speed.
Guybow - Thanks for the tip.

What browser, accelerator do you use? I got the same results with integrated firefox downloader (3 simult. dls, then it started to complain about too many connections).

Almost a year ago, ChewyBass had an exceptional post in the DISCUSSIONS forum about tweaks for Firefox that a lot of us immediately jumped on, and it improved performance tremendously. http://www.extremefitness.com/forum/...ad.php?t=17275
You have to scroll down a bit to find the post by cwx that details the tweaks.

Rapidshare.de and Rapidshare.com
Since I can't start a new thread in this section. I'll do it this way.
For those that haven't noticed yet there are now two completely different (allthough equal) RAPIDSHARE websites
Rapidshare.de and Rapidshare.com
If the uploaders would now be smart enough to upload alternatively in one of them, then we DL'ers are able to use the max DL of 100Mb per server without the wait of 77 minutes between two DL's of approx. that size.
One file of 200Mb could be split in two sizes of 100Mb and one part on RS.de and the other on RS.com
The downloader could even download the two splitted files in one time, or the one right after the other if the connection doesn't allow it.
It's just easier for the downloaders; because I also think the RS is way too expensive for a premium account.
