Default Hey New Members/ How to be a Big Dog 101

Do you want to be a Valued Member at EF?

It isn't that hard.

How to be a Big Dog 101
(feel free to add Dogs or ask questions Newbs)

A) Don't make dumb or moronic posts (a right reserved for Big Dogs )

B) Don't ask for reputation points, usually Dogs ignore these requests, earn them.

C) Share! Share something thoughtful, a life experience, something funny.

D) Respect your fellow posters. Don't antagonize, belittle or insult their
intelligence.

E) Post something you think the other members might enjoy. If you think it's
good they probably will too.

F) Follow the rules that Fitness Photos has set out.

G) Use common sense. Think about what you are posting. Did you put some
thought into your post.

H) Put some effort into your post. Whether it's good or bad most guys respect
effort.

I) If you don't understand something ask. Ask a Mod, ask a Dog we are usually
more than willing to help.

J) If you do something wrong, admit it, apologize and move on.

K) Reread and understand F)

L) Laugh. This place can be fun, enjoy it.

M) Don't be a post whore. Someone that posts nothing of consequence
just to see your name on a thread (yeah don't be like me )

N) Don't be a whiner. Don't whine every time something you don't like happens.

O) Don't be afraid to speak up if you don't agree with something of importance.
Do it in way that is repectful of the site, the mods and your fellow members.

P) No personal attacks in threads. Got a beef with somebody send them a PM.

Q) Did someone one make a post you really like. Use the rep button and tell
them or send them a PM. They will remember you.

R) Visit Chat, drop by say hello and get to know your fellow members.

S) Check out all areas of the site not just the babe area. Don't however
make dumb posts in those areas unless you have some personal knowledge
to back up what you are saying.

T) Reread F) one more time as the rules are being enforced more now than ever.

U) It all starts with you, you can visit and just view or you can participate.

V) No vulva, labia or spread shots are allowed anywhere on this site.

W) Don't criticize, belittle or make derogatory remarks against the verified babes.
Actually this really applies to all members.

X) The X factor. If you don't like cats, pretend to, it's worth 1 Mod rep.

Y) Why not? Why be lurker or a leecher when with a little effort you can be Big Dog.

Z) From experience it's not hard to achieve Big Dog status. In fact I think
it's easier now than in the past. I didn't go counting every point I got
and actually didn't even know it happened until a friend I made pointed
it out. And this is the final point I'd make, make friends, once you make
a few friends becoming a Big Dog isn't far behind.

Talking

Here is my best advice...

First- go to the thread on rules, regulations, and prohibited content...

http://www.extremefitness.com/forum/t393.html

Print this off and keep it next to you. Every time you post- check that it is not on the prohibited content list and does not violate any of the rules.
Check back every week or so to see if additions have been made to the list.

Second- do not post a reply in the POB without contributing something new.
No comments or opinions allowed there.

Third- don't be afraid to PM a guy like me if you have a question. I did when I started and the Big Dogs and Top Dogs are usually glad to help.

Just have fun, learn to post pictures and things in the lounge or wherever before you get into the babes section.

One last thing- practice uploading picts if you need to.
I use www.imagevenue.com for thumbnailed pictures
and www.filecabin.com for full size

Don't be afraid to ask- better than a bitch slap!!!

Well Done Mr. Gregg.

Any of my top dawgs teach rep power 101? I'm a failing student who needs a tutor to explain the dynamics of increasing rep power.

Great post Greg777!

New members, if a lot of this advice sounded familiar...then I commend
you for reading the threads (stickies) highlighted in yellow at the top of the forum. You will find these in every forum and they normally contain the rules, as well as the best information available in that forum. If you haven't read them, then I highly recommend you do so at your earliest opportunity. I also recommend you visit the forum on website tips and tricks for additional valuable information.

Now please follow along as I demonstrate the following procedure. Redirect your courser to Greg777's first post, bottom left hand corner. You will find a box that looks like this:
. Click on it and you should find a screen with these options:

What do you think of greg777's post?

I approve
I disapprove

Your comments on this post:

Make sure the "I approve" circle is checked and add an appropriate comment like "Thank you", "Nice Post", or "Got Nudes?" and then hit enter or press the "Add to Reputation" button. This is called "Reps" and adds to a person’s reputation when they make a good quality post. Even if you don't have any rep status yourself yet, the rep will go through and your comments can be read. This is an awesome feature of this site and saves cluttering the threads with comments like "She's hot" or "Good Post".

Now let's say a Top Dog has made a mistake (it doesn't happen, but just pretend for the purpose of this exercise) and you would like to bring it to their attention. Simply slide your courser over the person's name and left click. You will be given various options including the opportunity to send an "Instant Message" or IM to the individual. At that time you type something like "Most Favored and Respected Top Dog, Master of all domains that you surveill and subject only to the whispered whims of the Illustrious Moderators; I respectfully bring to your attention the double post in the 101 thread. Your humble servant, Bravo." This is the polite way of letting someone know they made a mistake and allows them to correct it without any embarrassment. I'm sure you all noticed the "I disapprove" block above. That is normally used when someone continues to make poor posts are disobeys the site rules and hasn't responded to requests to correct their behavior. Of course, you want to make sure you are absolutely correct before you ever "Neg Rep" someone because you can't undo it, and I highly recommend sending an IM first. You also might want to bring the activity to the attention of one of the Dogs or a Mod to see if they can change things with as little hassle as possible to all concerned. After all we're all friends here.

Thanks for your time and I hope you enjoy the site as much as I have.

An honest answer. For a while I was consumed with earning rep.
I found myself making posts just because I might get some rep
points. After I while I realized that rep points aren't the end all
and be all around here. The rep system does afford you a bit of
status but that's all. I don't consider myself above you or any
other up and comer and actually am a little embarassed by my
rep power. If they took away my repping system tomorrow I
think it would be no big loss for me. I actually respect and look
up to a lot of members with less rep power than me. Especially the
guys who helped me when I started and was just a noob even
though they may have a lesser rep power now. I actually found
when I stopped worrying about rep points, I started posting for
me and not for points, and my posts actually got better (insert
LOL here, as how could they possibly be any worse I ask myself)
and repped more. So no tutor necessary, enjoy your time and
friends here, and the reps will take care of themselves.

Awesome post Greg!!! Since I was away for awhile Im still trying to get back in the swing of things, but once again everyone has been awesome in welcoming me back. This is my testament to any new members. This is the best community on the web and if you follow the Advice given out by Gregg and numerous other long time members you can achieve the same sense of friendship that I have come to enjoy. I mean who else can say their friends are among a vanilla gorilla in Alberta and a drunken roo from the outback!!! That is the real benefit for becoming a big dog on this site!

I've negged guys, never a fellow dog or mod because personally I feel
it's out of respect for all previous efforts, even if they have slipped up
and made a bad or bonehead post. You shouldn't have to be afraid to
push the envelope with your posts for fear of being negged. The noobs
I've negged were totally disrespectful of the site or were making "multiple"
bad posts and needed a slap. The guys I slap for making bad posts, I told
them what they were doing wrong, and if they smartened up I went
back and repped them positively to reverse my neg. If they continued
in the right direction I would positively rep them some more. Greg

I was a lurker and a leech for my first 3 months here. I made
my first post at the end of March 2005. So in a way I haven't
really been here a year. Flints you are a big dog before I had even
got started. It's never too late & I regret not participating sooner!

When I started to read this thread I was on fire....Now all I can think of is a shower and a shave.

Its simple really.....IF YOU WANT GOOD NEIGHBOURS....BE ONE!
IF YOU WANT FRIENDS .................BE ONE!

The trouble is with common sense it aint very common!

This has all been said before one way or another...Greggy ol mate dont be offended as this is a good idea for a thread for sure and if you dun mind I will make it a sticky...We will give it some time before we do as with the changes that are due it may not be needed, if you get my drift.

I gotta edit this...With all the colors you blokes LOVE to use makes me think I am down town and in traffic.
