Ban their IP adresses
And if it's not already done, make it so only members of the forum can post.

Here's one from less than 2 hours ago.

I have no idea how to stop it, or if you even can, sorry.

I have that problem all the time with my Yahoo Groups, I have one that I have to approve the members, when they request to join they get an email telling them the requirements to be a member and I still get stuff posted that I don't want there. That's one of the great things about EF, there is a great moderation team that keeps up on the bad stuff and get rid of it as quick as possible. That's the best thing about the could a mod ban thread, if a mod logs in and see's theres post to it they can look into it.
Spam is just something that you can't get totally around, there are a lot of jackbags out there that get pleasure in f'ing up peoples fun on the web. Just got stay up on your forum.

We have code in place to try and minimize it on this site and for the most part it works well; we used to get spam almost daily because of our sites popularilty. All we can do is use the SPAM button Moderators have to remove it when we see whatever makes it through.

If I was a hacker I would chase down thier ip and blow up thier computer, I heard hackers can do that, but than you got to make sure they cant find your ip somehow hackers can do that:P
Well I am not sure if it is a myth that a hacker can blow up you harddrive/computer, but they could burn out some stuff on your motherboard if they mess up the fsb and even blow up your cpu damm anything with incressed voltages I guess lol. luckily I got a intel motherboard they dont let you overclock your computer.
Spam Spam Spam... just a thought.

You can grab their IP address, and do a NSLOOKUP up on it to get the name of their ISP.
Then you can send an email to the postmaster of that ISP with the date / time of the spam, informing them of the actions of their subscriber.
MOST ISP's have an anti-spamming policy in their TOS.

If I did all that, I would get little else done during the day; it's all about picking your battles and when two clicks solves a problem for me, that's enough time spent on something that will result in nothing but wasted time.

True, takes a few mins to do, but if you have repeat offenders, might be something to try as it will get them shut down for a day. When they call to ask about their account, they will be informed of the infraction. Make them think twice about returning.
I have done this to a few people.
