Is it possible to get really fit in 6 months?
Hello, I would like some help/recommendations on getting really fit in around 6 months. What kind of training do I need? Food? Diet? Excercise routines?
I remember seeing a MTV "Made" episode were a woman was fit to compete in Fitness Competitions and she lost a lot of fat and gain muscle in 6 months. I would like to do the same.
Any help is REALLY appreciated.

I would be happy to help but need to know more about your fitness level and how you eat now and train now........let me know and I can walk you through it!
Also check out fitnessteambc.com incase you evern want to compete, it has sections which explain the classes and contest requirements etc.
Welcome to the board and this section!

It would depend on how "in shape" you are now. Of course, this is a relative term since "in shape" could be measured in a number of ways. Are you trying to loose a certain amount of weight, drop to a certain percentage of bodyfat, increase your cardiovascular endurance, look better in the mirror???

I also do have some literature with 4-6 months of workouts, diets and planning info toward contests, these manuals are at fitnessteambc.com in the services and ebooks link on the left menu.
I have a free ebook which covers some info and basics to prep for figure but will help with fitness model and fitness category too. Its at lindacusmano.com in the download section, free to copy and save.

I too recall that episode. I think the competitor's name was Rebecca Swimmer. She made some amazing progress in contest prep. Watching that definitely motivated me before going to the gym!

Yes you should see some of the clients I haved worked with, its truely amazing, I have had similar results just not an a TV show although what an excellent marketing tool for a personal trainer.
I would jump at the opportunity to train someone and have it logged for TV, the results would bring many gals my way for training but then I would not have enough of trainer Linda to go around, I like to keep only so many clients at one time to ensure I do cater to each..........some competitor trainers take on way to many gals at once which leads to gals being left out and not helped properly.
I won't name names but a few are charging too much for contest prep and take on too many clients and I can tell you which to be weary of!!
