The gym. Have most things I need, cardio equipment, and a lil eye candy. Plus people see me training people, so the client numbers go up.

Usually..
train at home. I have my heavy bag training all set up way better than the gym has and a very good wieght set-up...then there's cycling at the park. Pretty much just do bad weather cardio at the gym.

I have to do it at home. I don't think I'd still be working out if I went to the gym. I like to do it right after work and the gyms in this town are always packed then and you can't get at anything. plus if it wasn't like that, I've got so many things that I have to get done, to go to the gym, get home and finish the other things, I'd end up eating pretty late. Don't want to go to the gym later though or I'd have no time with the wife and I'd never get to sleep on time.

I do both so I have no preference. When I can't find time during the day I do cardio (bike) & some body weight stuff at home. I just hired a new Asst. so I can now go at lunch like I used to before my previous Asst. left. I love that. There are no crowds and I can get it in and out in an hour and then feel great the rest of the afternoon. Better than a cup of coffee after lunch.

I workout at home. I have over 800 lbs of free weights (mostly Oly with some standard stuff for dumbbells), a squat rack with a pulley, a heavy bag, and a recumbent bike sitting in front of a TV.
The only thing I wish I had was a rowing machine.

At the gym- I wouldn't trust working out by myself at home even if I had weights to train with... ... I don't have any equipment so I would get a better workout at the gym.. but there are some that have an impressive collection that probably don't need to leave... as far as the crowdedness... I don't mind it as much as I used to when I first started working out

Gym, gym, gym.
Atmosphere, the ability to take a break from being at home, the possibility of girls, etc.
My complex has a crap gym on one of the low floors, w/ dumbbells that go up all the way to 30 lbs. But there is a treadmill there that I'll put some miles on in the winter (Yay! Running while staring at a wall!).

lol- yeah - I also agree with the atmosphere and the ability to get motivated just by looking around while being at the gym... You feel less guilty if you are home by yourself

gym for me, i have 2 different memberships for various things, i generally work out monday through friday for about 1 1/2 hrs for lunch, bout 10 mins from my office so it works out great. The other i use on weekends for cardio since i dont consider it a gym, its a "health club" and its close to my home.
When im motivated i do cardio at home either jog or on elliptical in the mornings before i go to work.

I'd prefer to workout at my house, but I have no money to pay for all the equipment, and luckily my dad is paying for our gym membership, so I go there. Its a good atmosphere, pretty big so you aren't so crowded. Lots of hot girls, and Jenaveve Jolie actually works out there, and I was lucky enough to do ab work right next to her. Man she is tiny. For all of you who don't know her, shes a pornstar. So for those added bonuses, I would say gym.

I;m with Pliny on this one. Gym Gym GYM!
Its more motivating being around others who are taking care of themselves and challenging their bodies, minds and souls. I also find that when I can train around men I get even more competitive and push more weight, as a girl Who says girls can't train hard and strong?? Gotta prove them ALL WRONG! ha!
Also once you become a regular and see other regulars its harder to skip the gym for more than a few workouts without returning and feeling massively guilty or out of the social loop. So I would say the gym atmosphere really helps me stay in there and not quit when the going gets tough, and tougher.

I work out at home. I've had a gym membership before and used it fairly regularly, but for the time being I'm doing well training at home.

i workout at home more, but i get a better workout whenever i go to the gym. unless there is a vacation, i workout at home throughout the weekdays and go to the gym to workout back and shoulders on saturday or sunday. i probably would have cancelled my gym membership by now if it hadn't been for my back... with the exception of my pull up bar there isn't much I can effectively do to exercise my back at home

the girls at the Golds i go to train better than most guys there. Theres 1 particular little asian girl, so tiny but throws 180lbs on a squat rack and does 10 reps of perfect form without breakin a sweat. She does have a the most fantastic ass ive ever seen so the work definately pays off

I definitely agree, I find that the gym offers all the features and equipment I don't have at home. Plus, the environment at 24 Hour Fitness is so fun. They have pools, saunas, and a bunch of free classes I can mix into my routine. They have basketball courts too, but I don't have enough people with me to start a game.
Do you have a lot of option at your gyms too?
