Hypermetabolic training??
I just discovered muscle attitude site and its fantastic! I was reading about Hypermetabolic training and was wondering if anyone here knows about, has used and gotten good results??
It seemed a bit extensive, can anyone explain it a bit more here? I want change up my routine before summer and see if I can "shock" my body with something different. thanks a bunch~

it appears to be something similar to ketogenesis (sp) training where you vary your carb load on and off to induce a boost in metabolism, nothing new. The site you are referring to, muscle with attitude is just a mirror of T-Nation, which from time to time has some deceant articles, but the one i found about hypermetabolic training reads much more like an add for all the garbage supplements they sell. Thats my biggest problem with tnation is that they throw all their crap down your throat in every article and every post of their board, i you post anything other than their products, they edit your posts, if you post anything negative regarding their products, like when i said surge tasted like shit, they edit your posts
Anyway, back to you original inquiry, below is a link to a pdf, (rather lengthy) regarding ketogenesis diets. I think that is what you are looking to do.

No its not a diet I am referring to its a type of physical training program. check this out, I found a lengthy article, it just seems a little confusing and time consuming.

I'll read T-Nation a few times a week, but only do an indepth read of a few articles -- but if I remember correctly, their hypermetabolic training was just working in a state of oxygen debt due mostly due to fast reps and low recovery time.
And here's my take-away lesson, gleaned from years of hard work: it'll work. It'll work fine, so long as you continue to progressively increase the weight and perform the workout regularly and often, particularly when combined with an appropriate diet.
Of course, pretty much any routine will work when you progressively increase the resistance, do it regularly, and have a good diet. After setting a few basic rules - except for very rare exceptions - the actual routine isn't that important. Consistency and increasing resistance are the keys to the workout.
I don't know your training history or goals, but I always recommend just sticking to the basic lifts for a few months and seeing how your body responds (bench, row, squat, & deadlifts; later adding in pullups, military press, and calves).
I've never tried to post on their forums - it always seems like a combination of too many asshats and armchair commandos, interspersed with too few people who actually know what they're doing. I'm also against the constant hawking of their products, though if that's the cost for what actually are some pretty good training articles, I'll suck it up and just scroll past the ads. I did order Surge to see what all the fuss was about, and was pleasantly surprised by the taste - the original is just like angel food cake, and is delicious. Of course, it's massively overpriced and I don't feel that you really get any benefits from it over "regular" PWO nutrition, but I thought that flavor at least was great.

Hey thanks Pliny, i agree with you, it really does come down to consistency, effort and progressively adding resistance so as to keep it a challenge.
I'm not sure if hypermetabolic training can be done very often, as it seems quite intense. But I am going to incorporate it into my regime whenever I feel I need to change and bust a plateau. It seems to be a form of circuit training that taxes more than one energy system. Which in theory seems to be the ideal form of training for pushing past your current level of fitness.

I also take anything from that site with a grain of salt, that or its mirror, i mean there is some good stuff but some things are a bit unnatural, I think they cater alot to those using.
