Hi, Linda-
Thanks for your message and for taking the extra step to make new members such as myself feel welcome. I joined this forum in late Nov but have been so busy that I have not had much time to jump in and join all the fun on Extreme Fitness. I just started competing in Figure last year and placed pretty well locally but realized that if I wanted to do well at the National level I needed to build up my lats and get better at posing. So I took the rest of the year off (2 shows in June and July 2005) and my next show is the Kentucky Figure in Covington on March 18th. I am excited and will just play it by ear and see how it goes. I am training really hard and making some progress, but have a long way to go yet. : ) I am also trying to break into Fitness modeling but it is hard to do. I keep sending in my photos and hoping one day I'll make it into a fitness magazine. If not, nothing is lost and at least I can say I tried, right? : )
I admire you and think you look great and am so happy that you are so kind and willing to share your knowledge with others. Thanks for all your support and guidance. I look up to you and hope to learn a lot on this forum.
I am really looking forward to talking to you and the other Fitness and Figure women out there!
HAPPY NEW YEAR and I'll talk to you soon.
Nadine

Hi Everyone,
So I am totally new to this site and really to this competition thing. I have been working out my whole life it seems, but never really for any purpose other than the sport I was participating in at the time. Now that part of my life is over I wanted to challenge myself to do something extraordinary, my first figure competition.
I started my dieting, clean, on Jan 1st 2006, and i hope to compete in May 2006. I am really nervous that my body won't get lean enough. I weigh in at 163 I'm 5'5 and I am about 23-24% body fat. I have great muscle mass but I need ot get rid of all this fat on top and I am putting my faith in time, and my coachin.
My biggest road block though is I will get up in the middle of the night and eat! Does this happen to anyone else,a nd if so how do you stop it. I battle it everynight, sometimes i come up a winner and sometimes i give in. Now that I've become more strict when I do get up I still eat clean, but calories count. Can anyone help???
LHW

If you eat right alll day, every 2-3 hours, you won't get the hunger later on, and when you do, go for grilled chicken or protein shakes!
What are you doing for diet and training now?
Linda

I agree with Italian, some type of slower burning protein before bed is great. The body needs nourishment as it rests and rebuilds from the days activities. This is the best time for protein and the essential vitamins.

Hi,
I introduced myself a couple mins ago in a different introduction thread, which i can't find anymore...there's ALOT of threads goin' on here!
Anyways, I was wondering if anyone knew why I couldn't get into the pictures section of the site anymore? I'm quite confused as to why I can't look at any more pics!

I just wanted to say hello to everyone. I'm a marketing manager by day and a national-level figure competitor by night. I'm entering my fifth year at the national level in the NPC and am coming off of a fourth-place finish at the 2005 USA's. My goal is to continue to consistently improve my physique with each and every show.
My history is powerlifting, obstacle course competitions, and bodybuilding...along with figure shows.
If I can answer any questions and provide any helpful information, just let me know, and I'll do my best! Good luck to all who have shows this year!

Hi ItalianAngel, thanx for your help in another thread. I've got a lot of questions in regards to this one.
One of my friends retired from her sport in august and has been working a day job fairly unhappily for the last 5-7 months. She wants to revive her website for informational, fan support and selling her autographed pictures and videos of competitions. She also wants to start a website with more provocative pictures on it, no nudity but thongs, strings and the like and try to make money on that one.
Question 1: Should she keep those sites seperate? I've already advised her to but should she change her name on the other site? She wants to be taken seriously for her sport but knows how the other site will sell more.
Question 2: How will these type of pictures affect her career goals, eventually she would like to do some sort of tv broadcasting/commentary etc.
Question 3:There are several products we've thought of to market on the 2nd site. HQ pics on CD. Video Shots of the photo shoots on DVDs. Right now, Paypal is the only online access that the public will have to pay. How will this limit her if at all?
Question 4: I was going to post her pics on the babes section to get a reaction and to market, and was planning an accompanying Yahoo group for those free pics. Is there another way to market that is more effective in getting her name out there. Since she is a "Babe" and I'm her little helper bee, will we have access?
Sorry for the vagueness on the details, I'm probably being paranoid but I just didn't want to give too much away b4 here debut on line. I hear that you are the one to ask for something like this. Any help would be appreciated.
Oh, I can tell you this she's from Canada and is shaped like Jaime Koeppe(except more abs and slightly less legs). Are all you girls from Canada gorgeous?
Thanx

Hello! My names Anne-Marie! I'm 21, about 5'5" an i weigh about 50kilos or 100pounds, what ever you crazy kids measure in these days :P
Fitness women look absolutely awesome, and I have set myself a goal of 3 years to be in competitions! I've been doing it for about 2 months now and I'm already making progress! You can see in some pics from my bands website www.jupiterianvibe.com that I have baaaabbby shoulder and little tiny biceps hehe. I have some quads and i know theres abs somewhere under there.
I just made a spreadsheet to start counting calories (cause apparently I'm 26% body fat!?! I'm skinny and was so shocked to find that out!) so hopefully I dont lose my baby lats So I'll just lose fat til the abs come out and then I'll start carboing and proteining it up again!
I have to say that going to the gym is one of the highlights of my day, it makes me feel beautiful and the parts of myself i dont like (apart from my face) no longer upset me cause i know that one day I'm going to look like you guys.
You're total inspirations i can thank you enough
just thought I'd say hello!

Well my fan site has all this in one so she will be okay to section it.
I've already advised her to but should she change her name on the other site? She wants to be taken seriously for her sport but knows how the other site will sell more.
Well if she is concerned for her sport then yes it should be separate as for names it depends, it may be harder to market if she is known as one name then uses another for aother site, that site will need heavy marketing. I would need to know her sport and such......
Question 2: How will these type of pictures affect her career goals, eventually she would like to do some sort of tv broadcasting/commentary etc.
Should be okay unless he does go nude and even that seems to be less of a big deal now a days.
Question 3:There are several products we've thought of to market on the 2nd site. HQ pics on CD. Video Shots of the photo shoots on DVDs. Right now, Paypal is the only online access that the public will have to pay. How will this limit her if at all?
Not at all.

Not really, I spend hours online doing marketing, its the only way and can take months and years to really get out there.
Sorry for the vagueness on the details, I'm probably being paranoid but I just didn't want to give too much away b4 here debut on line. I hear that you are the one to ask for something like this. Any help would be appreciated.

I suppose, quite a compliment thank you from us canuck gals.
