Default Gaining and fattening at the same time

Hey i guess this is mainly for the ladies trying to build muscle, but now I'm eating really good and i think its working! I cant tell if my muscles are developing faster cause of the break i had, the muscle memory or the new massive diet.

It's not that big, it's less than 3000 cals most days but i am already putting on fat.

I still look thin but my hip bones are almost covered and i have a little pudge over the top of my pants and pudges on my theighs.

I'm half an hour past meal time and i dont think i can eat cause i dont want to get fat!!

I knew this would happen, and i know you cant gain without getting fatter but its hard to eat that much at all! leave alone when you can see it making you fat! WAH!

Have any of you guys ever had any problems with that and whats the best way to deal with it?

Edit: Maybe the creatine loading isnt helping?

*coff*

whats a cardio?

no

i was thinking about that this morning tho, for the moment im fitting in all the weight training i can, but i could always go for a run at lunchtimes. but doesnt that take away from the muscle gain?

I have no more spare time apart form lunch breaks which i usually use to do assignment, but not very effectivly so im willing to swap

I dont feel so fat today! I kept having nightmares that night and waking up and being huge so i think i was just obsessing, but i found some cool stuff of awesome ladies feeling the same way like this:

The biggest changes the last couple of years are that I started focusing on my diet and GOT ENOUGH to eat!! I realized - that when I first have reached a weight around 20lb more then contest weight - I could eat twice as much as I thought - that’s 4-5000 calories with out much fat gain.
That really pushed my muscles to grow and the extra fat has added some hardness to the muscle (that being UDOs choice, fats from nuts and fish and a small part from meat!)

And all the extra calories have also given me some extra energy for longer and harder workouts... so all together a PERFECT combination!!

As said … Right after competition I normally gain around 20 lb in the first 2 months. I simply cannot build muscles at low body-fat % and I do not find it difficult to loose the weight again... guess I have a high metabolism.

(thank you justsomedude!!)

Here we go again Ms GG seeing flab... Actually, I kinda felt the same myself, until I realised that:
1) I still wasn't eating enough
2) I wasn't working out hard enough

It is fact that since you wanna put 20lbs on, you'll have to change your attitude toward your mirror. Even 20lbs fat-free gain would mean for you to grow a fair bit, so you'll have to get used to the hyoooge looks. Since it is not gonna happen without a little bit of fat gain, you gotta remember your goals:
1) you wanna compete at a higher weight than today
2) you are NOT competing now, nor tomorrow

So, go back to them tins of tuna in OIL, shovels of pasta and rice, whole chicken breakfasts and train hard till x-mas. You might have a bit of podge by then, but your goal is not to compete for x-mas, your comp is months later.

You can start dieting and working on definition once you've reached the weight, NOT BEFORE

Now, be a good girl, and go do some squats. I was myself feeling a bit down this week, my legs have been feeling a bit tight for a week without a pause, and I was considering a week beak. I changed my mind this afternoon, hit the gym, benched 10kg more for same amount of reps as last week and went through my usual squat routine despite the soreness, the uneasy feelings, and still had enough lefty in the tank for 6x6 pull ups, 5 sets of SL deadlifts, and 60 sit ups on the decline bench. It's all about the Will and the Word

Haha I'm sorry Joey!

Thanks so much for posting that though, its just encouraging to know other people feel the same way because you never know if they do or not. Or if you're doing it wrong.

I went into this thinking OK 60 kilos by Feb! and then as soon as i have the slight side fat I'm starting to rethink! ALthough i knew it would happen and told everyone to not let me stop eating.

I slowed a bit yesterday but im back up again now, i think you're right though, i think working out harder will make you feel better. The faster the progress the better you'll feel too im sure. And thats really what this is all about!

I'm doing legs this arvo! How did you know about the squats :P AND YAY I DONT HAVE TO DO CARDIO! bwahahah

I'm not back up to pullups yet (from the op), but i remember how awesome i felt when i could do them before! and im not far off! And you're right about the Will! I came back straight away and did the same weight on biceps just because i am completely obsessed with them! haha! So you must be right!

GRR!

*Geeg attacks the gym*

thanks Joeb!

Has anyone else had any issues with feeling this way? I remember ItalianAngel said she doesnt let herself get higher than 20%bf, but when you're used to being 14%, you'd still feel quite fat!

I read another figure ladies thing that said "i hate gaining cause i have to be at least xx body fat and i dont like it!"

so i know we're not alone!

Anyway you probably didn't gain much fat in these past 1-2 weeks when you started eating much more, it's only that your stomach is always full so your belly appears bigger.

By the way I'm just trying to cheer you up, I don't believe a word of what I said.

I ALWAYS do cardio, GG....year round, on the elliptical rower or recumbent bike (no impact)...30 min, about 3-4 times a week. Wont hurt your muscle gains, I swear...just gotta eat clean, several small meals a day...no slow carbs after 6 pm...and your butt pudge will be replaced by nice firm muscle

o_O!! and all i have to do is this magical 'cardio' you speak of!? hehe

well i think i can definately fit in 30 mins of cardio during my lunch break at work but i think it will have to be running, which is impact right, will that still work?

I think i should still be eating lots tho, im willing to put up with the pudge if i can finally put on some muscle! hehe
