re-starting journey
Hi Linda
After chatting with you the other day, I am really re-motivated. It has been a long guilt wrenching few weeks of failure and lack of will power. So look out for my posts as I start my new journey

I have to say that the workout for week 10 buff camp is so so so good. I am really enjoying the challenge of reallyheavy weights. I have stuck to the meal plan for that week -so far. Two days -that's an achievement considering my recent history-hehe. See I am also making myself used to keeping a log here. Did my 1 hour of Bodystep today followed by my weight training. Can't do it the other way around due to the school run and the time my Bodystep class starts.

Wicked cool!! I am so glad to see you here. I think the motivation of a few, me and others.........will really help you stick to it! Then the results will come!!
I love the heavy days too, I hate light days, have some in my training now, its such an eye roller, and also cardio...............aaaaargh. over an hour per day.......oh well, part of the game and par for the course - if I want to do less cardio I cannot let myself gain as much fat off season, plain and simple. More cardio off season means less cardio at once for on season.

I am here, I am here , I am here. So I missed a meal today -not good, it won't be happening again-still had 5 meals though.
Here's what I have been having .
Day one:-3oz oats 6 egg whites, 3/4 cup plain soya yoghurt with 18 nuts, 1/2 jam sandwich (i was visiting a camp so I chose the best I could)1 zerocarb protein drink(on the move),3 oz Broccoli and cauliflower with a sprinkle of cheese, 2 rice cakes with 3/4 soya milk.
Day two:-Muesli with protein powder and 1 orange,3/4Soya yoghurt with 18 plain nuts, 1 apple 3 oz turkey,1 potato,2 oz chicken with cheese sprinkle 1 kiwi fruit,3 oz greens and protein drink.
Day 3:- oats 1 orange soya milk 4 egg whites, soya yoghurt mixed plain nuts, broccoli andcauliflower with chicken,1 slice rye bread, a slice cheese and 1 apple, broccoli and cauliflower cooked in soya milk, carrot and cucumber with Nocarb protein drink made with soya milk.
Day 4 :- oats 1 orange and protein powder, soya yog with nuts, 2 rice cakes 2small carrots chicken (2 blocks chocolate-oops) 1 slice rye bread 1 apple small slice cheese, mushrooms and chili haricot beans, soya milk with protein powder.
I use this Nocarb protein and it is has exactly 80 calories a serving with no carbs and only protein. It falls into the protein section nicely, I think.
I realize that I keep falling behind a couple hundred calories two of the days , so I need to re-adjust that to meet the target nicely
So, does it look like I am on the right track???

Looks pretty good so far considering your past history with diet - you have your meals happening and sounds like your geting a rhythm going with organizing foods, meals etc!
I won't say much about the choices because I know you are doing better than before and need to be gradual in your strictness, so this is all lifestyle change right now and that is awesome!!!

I started today with
a protein drink and an orange.
1 oz oats and 3 oz plain no fat soya yoghurt,
2 oz rice and 3oz turkey
some veggie soup-felt hungry about 30 mins later so I had a banana
Veggie curry (courgettes and parsnips) with 3 oz turkey
finally nightime protein drink.
I feel full very much but this only meets 1257 calories-far from 2000. the only time I felt hungry was after the soup . I eat every two hours.
Even though I am comfortable, should I still increase the amounts to meet 2000 cals????

Yes, but what you want to do is find a higher cal good food you can use, protein is your best choice. Maybe see about adding egg whites, light to eat, add some almonds in the day, about a quarter cup....or fit it into the servings ...I dont' recall how many servings of fat that will give you but it is a healthy fat that can help increase the cals. I would also say maybe to try to get 1-2 more oz of turkey in, that is not too hard or filling I think.
You can add an oz of oats and maybe add an oz or 2 of yogurt to the total, its not too much extra to make you feel too full. Also, maybe eat more of the veggie soup too, and it was fine to have the banana.
But tell me, on the 1200 cals, do you feel tired or lacking energy?

Coincidentally, I think, I got a cold the same time I felt weak with my change in diet, however, this week I have not felt so weak or tired so I think the 1200 calories are okay.I have my two hard HIIT sessions etc still to achieve this week, so I will see how that feels. I had an extra banana and some almond nuts to pump up the calories today. I had two hours of classes tonight. I am never quite so sure about taking in carbs this late at night after classes.I had a Nocarb protein drink and a banana after my two hours tonight. Is this the best recommendation or is there something better to replenish at this time of the night?

We will watch closely, 1200 is pretty low, but won't kill you for a couple weeks to get you some impact and I know what you have been doing up to now. Look at the ideas I threw out at you about the extras here and there so you can up those cals in a few weeks.
Not sure if you wanted to chat tomorrow but I will prob. be on and around.
Keep posting!!!

I started to increase my oats a bit more throughout the day. I have also started increasing the protein. I even got some sweet potatoes in this week-loved those! Ihad some fish (salmon and tuna) . then I had the Pathfinder club's big day and spoilt it all by having some choc cake-naughty but it was tasty. I am trying not to feel too guilty about this.

Aww I know how that feels, i used to be a vegetarian for almost 10 years, and believe me, it's worth eating meat because I was feeling very unhealthy without it. I'm not a big meat eater myself, but it's good for you...fish is yummy!!

I did eat poultry til I was 26 as well as eggs but then became allergic, so then it was fish only no meats and I am muscled enough for most ladies I would say, as a competitor........well then yes for the goals I want, most eat meat but they also do steriods and I have been tempted but not fallen there yet so ...........
and if I do ever go over that line I sure won't hide it or lie about it, I will simply say I use................but as of yet I have not. I did research but no matter whch way I go about it, I don't want even the mild side effects that are mentioned.............and I have seen it for myself, I don't want the neandrothol forehead, voice change, clit enlargement, beard.....................not to mention the internal damage which you don't see until you get some horrible disease and yes many people get horrible disease and never touch a roid but it can enduce problems I am afraid of so as of yet I am natural and pescatarian, with less fish off season.

Well, I had my 4 egg whites and 1 oz oats for brekky, protein drink for snack time and some Bass and sweet potato and broccoli and this was repeated for the next three meals , except I added two rice cakes instead of the sweet potato at the next meal.
The bi weekly workouts are much longer now, but they feel great. I really like how the abs are combined with the workouts as I need a whole lot of work there-having a ceserean section at delivery. I hope that tones up well for my comp suit-when my times comes

Well, yesterday I celebrated my 19th wedding anniversary, with a meal that stuck pretty much to what I should have-grilled chicken and steamed vegetables in tomato sauce, but my husband bought my my favorite chocs, so I had those. I was in the gym early that morning working on back and shoulders . My shoulders are the weakest especially as I seem to have a permanent left shoulder injury-yeesh! I love the light feeling (especially through PMS) on my diet of protein, sweet potato and veg and my protein drinks. It is a mental discipline thing, but if I could look only half as good as those pics you have up ,Linda, I'm on my way-good and proper.
