FL - Saavy Shrinking Shannons measurements
Okay, I'm replying to my own thread, not sure if that's what I'm supposed to do, since I've never done this before and I figured then I won't have many different threads in my name. Anyway, got my measurements taken this evening but where do I sent my pics? E-mail? Anyway, here are the measurements in inches.
Neck - 14
shoulders - 20.5 accross the back
chest - 39.5
right arm 12 1/4
upper abs - 33
belly button abs 36.5
glutes - 41
thigh - 24.5
calf - 14 3/4
I haven't taken my weight this evening, I'd rather wait till morn, but I'm around 151 lbs. I post it tomorrow. I don't know what I can accomplish in 1 month, but I have need motivation for so long, and getting up at 5 am to drive 20 min to the gym was not happening too much in the winter here. By the time everyone is up and out of the house, I have to get my house work done, then I've lost the ambition. Spring is here though, which means biking and rollerblading, yay. And light in the mornings.

Oh you are so luck to have spring approaching already. We got hit with some more snow this past weekend. We did have sunshine today, took advantage of it during my lunch and went for a walk. It's amazing what us "moms" have to do to get our "my" time in but in the end the effort will be well worth it.

okay, I know I was supposed to start on Saturday, but I had to unexpecedly go out of town with some girlfriends, so I started today. I went to the gym at 5:30am and did smith machine for 6 sets 2X16 reps, 2X12 and 2X10, with weight added each time I went down. I also did 3 sets of walking lunges with 15 lbs weights and worked my shin muscles. I didn't do calves, because I also highland dance and they get lots of exercise.
My diet wasn't great, but not too bad.
Breakfast - 1 poached egg on 1 carraway rye toast with 1/4 tsp Becel Omega 3. seared zuchini with a bit of sea salt and garlic. Hot lemon water to start the day. Also had fruit, 1/2 orange, 1/2 kiwi, handful grapes 2 strawberries.
lunch - left over homeade stroganoff, fresh vegis with a little light ranch.
snack - the same thing
dinner - homemade lean chilli with whole wheat pasta, and homemade pasta salad with vegis. Probably had a little too much pasta, but not as much as a whole plate full for sure.
We are all staying in tonight for a family night, my legs feel like rubber and I'm tired. Gotta love the first day of legs!!!!
I also did 1/2 of walking on incline at 4. I would have jogged, but my shin splints need to heal, and my legs were very wobbly. Probably will be able to jog tomorrow. If not, I'll probably do the stair machine or the eliptical.

Alright day 2 of training, my legs are so sore, I feel like an old lady, and I'm very tired. I did back today. 6 sets of upright rows 2X16 reps, 2X14 and 2X12. I also did lateral pull downs, and back extensions. I jogged for 1/2 hour on the treadmill, and then did another 10 minutes before dinner outside.
Food:
Breakfast was greek egg white omelet with gr pepper, onion, spinach, tomato, greek seasoning and 1 tbsp of lite feta. Had a bit of fruit too. Started the day with hot lemon water.
Lunch was out at a sushi resaurant, I had 1/2 cup rice with beef terriaki vegis. and green tea
snack was some raw vegis and some nuts, mostly almonds.
dinner was brown/white basmati rice with terriaki stir fry beef and vegis, actually I blanch my vegis.
I ended up having a small peice of chocolate cake at this marriage course my hubby and I are taking. I don't usually eat dessert, but I'm on my period and it just needed to happen. But like I said, desserts aren't really my thing. I wished it could have been earlier in the day, then I have the day to burn off those calories, but my calories are pretty good for the day, so I afforded it tonight. Last night I wanted a small scoop of ice cream, which I don't usually feel like either, but I didn't do it. I'm tired now and going to bed, 5am comes very quickly.

Day 3, almost didn't get up on time. Had the clock set for 5pm instead of am. Anyway, made it. Did triceps today, since I was shorter on time. Bench dips and then tricep pull downs supersetted with tricep over head with pully machine. 1/2 hour of jogging, and then running around doing everything else today.
Food: 1 cup oatmeal with dried apple and dried apricot, some fresh fruit mango and watermelon.
Snack at bible study was 1 sm hotcross bun, fruit, 2 small slices of banada bread, coffee.
lunch was leftover stirfried vegis with rice noodles.
Dinner will be oven cooked salmon, mix of br/wt basmati rice and salad.
I have band practice tonight, so I probably won't be writing after this because I'm going to be bagged. But I may have some left overs for snack or salad before bed. I'll let you know tomorrow. No dessert on the menu tonight:-)

I didn't make it for day 4 of training because I need my sleep. After band practice the night before and by the time I drive home and what not, I didn't get up for 5:30. I did highland dance last night (ouch, my shins) though, so I got some cardio in.
My food for Thursday.
Breakfast 1 egg cooked with pam, 2 small slices of Canadian Bacon, 3 slices tomato on 1 slice rye carraway toast.
Snack(I was volunteering at the time) 1/2 croissant(not good) 1 mini cinnamon buiscuit(not good either) fruit
lunch was left whole wheat pasta with some meat and beans and can tomatos addes, also a salad with avacado and light ranch.
dinner was more whole wheat pasta(I really didn't feel like cooking at all) with can of pasta sauce, tomatos and white pork cut up, also frozen mixed vegis, all put together in a casarole. I didn't eat much, because it really wasn't that great, I ate enough fuel to get me through the evening.

on Friday, I did biceps and some abs. It's Sunday right now and my biceps are still hurting.
I ate fairly healthy on Friday, but Friday we had friends over for dinner. I had a few glasses of red wine and we ate homeade garlic burgers.
Saturday I ate oranges and had a french toast with 2 peices of bacon, again, not the best, but my husband cooked and I ate, but not much. Just nibble throughout the day on things like a banana and I think some left overs. Dinner last night, was some mashed taters, mixed vegis, edemame beans and one of those little alrealdy cooked roasts in gravy. We went to a movie and I had pop(which I don't drink very often, maybe one every 2 weeks) and some popcorn, but I wansn't hungry so I didn't even eat 1/4 of the bag.
Today(Sunday) I had some kashi go lean crunch with skim milk and a grapefruit for breakfast. At church I had a scone, at lunch I made mr noodles for a quick lunch and put tonnes of vegis in it and 2 eggs. I also cooked up a whole wheat pizza and 2 slices.
Not sure what I'm making for dinner tonight, maybe tuna casserole or maybe salmon steaks. Not sure, depends how much time I have tonight. Back to training tomorrow. Legs yaya!!

not too bad!!!
Hope the shin splints are not hindering you too badly but I see you are doing fine finding alternates to still train but not piss them off further.

Monday was a total write off for me. I woke with a sore throat and decided since my husband was home that was going to take the day for me. So I stayed in bed, drank teas, juices, water. Had grapefruit for breaky and left overs at lunch. Can't remember what else, because it's very early on Wed morning.
Tuesday, I trained legs and shoulders, since I missed Monday. I did half hour of jogging on the treadmill. I had Kashi go lean crunch for breakfast and hot lemon water. Lunch was left over homemade chicken soup with a sandwich. Dinner was chicken, but it was breaded, not the best choice, and left over healthy alfredo with whole wheat flax noodles. Of course there were vegis, but they were of the frozen type, running out of fresh vegis at this time. My husband and I take a course every Tuesday night where we are served dessert and coffee. I had tea with one creamer and a small slice of cheese cake. My throat still hurts and I have been awake since 3 am. It's 4:48 right now and my alarm is supposed to go off in 10 min to wake up. I am forcing myself to go to the gym for 5:30 even though my head is telling me "go back to bed so you can get better" but what's another hour and half of sleep. I do have a busy morning ahead of me, so hopefully I can get a nap in when my son goes to preschool this afternoon.
I'm starting my morning off with a banana and hot lemon water. Because I know I will be starving not even halfway through my workout. I plan to do chest today and maybe triceps, not sure. I will be doing 1/2 hour of jogging, because jogging doesn't seem to bother my shins right now, only highland dance, too much impact. I;m working on strengthening my shins. Gonna go soon, so I have to get ready. Until later.

Sorry you haven't been feeling well ((HUGS)), hope you get well soon but good job at working out through it. Just remember though, when you are sick your body needs rest so don't over do it. If it's not too late, if you want to keep your workout short, try doing triceps with chest instead of biceps. Your triceps already come into play with any chest press exercise, so do chest first and then you don't have to do as many sets for you triceps. Same thing for back and biceps.
Take care ~~~~~(vibes for getting better)
Cindy

worked chest today, jogged for 15 and rode recumbant bike for 15. My throat is still sore, and it was draining for a jog. My foot was also feeling strained, so I figured I would ride instead. Tomorrow night I get to highland dance, so that's some good cardio.
When I got home, I made a greek egg white omelet with green peppers, onions, spinach, light feta and some back bacon.
I had a snack at our ladies group of fruit and 1 slice of lemon poppyseed cake and 1/2 slice of banana bread.
For lunch I had some carrot corriander soup and 1 baked spring roll.
Can't remember if Ihad a snack, but probably did, and I'm sure it was healthy. I'm soooo tired. For dinner I had 2 bowls of homeade soup with lamb/ground beef meatballs and packed with vegis. I also had 1 1/2 whole wheat dinner rolls with a bit of marg on them. I drank water at band practice and then I had two turkey pepperoni before bed. I'm craving something sweet, so I'll either have some yogurt before bed or a peice of fruit, leaning towards the yogurt though. Until tomorrow.

Thurs, I mostly walked on the treadmill for cardio because my throat is still so dry. I did triceps.
For Breakfast, I had a poached egg and poached egg white on 2 small peices of toast. I also had to mini sausages, that equal 1, not a good choice, but they were there and I was craving them. Thankful I only had the 2 and not more. At lunch I had some sushi, only 3 peices, and I had the yaki soba with chicken. They didn't put the vegis in so they brought me some. I also had miso soup.
Dinner was homeade shephers pie. I ended up having 1.5 helpings. Shouldn't have done that. AFter dancing the sword dance tonight, I felt sick for about 10 seconds. Had a good hour at highland dance. My shins were throbbing, came home and iced it. Oh I had a honey lager beer before dinner.
Didn't eat when I got home, just got ready for bed, it's tiring when you get up at 5 am. Not a normal time to get up.

The weekend was a busy one for me. Friday I worked chest and walked/jogged. I had egg white omelet with spinach, onions and some lite feta. Also had a small bowl of cooked oats with raisins and a bit of milk.
I didn't have time to post all weekend because I wasn't near the computer, go go go. I played with the band on Saturday for St Paddys and we played at 3 different pubs. Had beer. Later we went to a fellow bandpersons house and stayed up late having wine. I guess it was a free day for me. Sunday I drank lots of water and tea, had fruit and a pancake(I stayed over at my friends house) we had dinner at her house of ham, lots of vegis and scalloped taters. I went to bed early, had a glass of milk before bed. Thank God it's monday. I didn't get to the gym this morning, my son got a paper route for the week, so either me or my husband is up with him and helping him. But it's beautiful out today, so we are going on a nice long bike ride, about 34 km.
I'm starting the day with lemon water and going to have a small bowl of kashi go lean crunch with milk. We'll probably be out at lunch time, so we will be eating out, but I want a healthy place. I am going to make chuck steak tonight and probably mashed potatoes, and lots of fresh vegis because they are my favorite. My shins are hurting from highland dancing at the pubs on saturday, I'm worried I've done more to them than just shin splints. No dance this week as it is spring break, yay, a break for my shins. They need to heal up because bending down with my legs puts a lot of pressure on them that doesn't feel well at all.
