FL-From FAT to PHAT
Tonight was a big eye opener for me. Looking at the pictures that were sent made me realize that I wasnt that skinny girl anymore. That I couldnt eat whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted and have that perfect body. Then I got to thinking, how could I be a nurse promoting health and well being when I wasnt living a healthy life? How could I raise my son preaching health when I was living a lie? From a nurse's point of view I look into the eyes of a killer on the rise every day, a global pandemic that now affects all. It's name is Obesity.Well its time to fight back and today is the day!
Sorry forgot to introduce myself,
My name is Jen and I had a little boy Nov 18, 2007. During my pregnancy I gained a lot of weight and now it's time to gain back control. I am about 5'7 and weigh 203 pounds...OUCH....I dont have my measurements yet because the gym I go to has the new body age system...and according to them I have a body of a 33 year old and I am only 23. Harsh I know. I met Linda in a desperate attempt to find a personal trainer online. She kindly responed back letting me know that she was over on the mainland (I live on Vancouver Island) but offered her support online. I felt lost at the time but she took me under her wing and guided me in the right direction.

hey Jen!
fellow challenger here, just want to say hi and wish you all the best I know exactly how you feel regarding the pics! I had that same realization and you know as much as it hurt, it really was something I needed to do. Being aware of where I am at, is gonna be the driving force to where I want to go! So lets stick together and do this! 30 days to the rest of our fantastic lives!!

Morning Jen, thanks for stopping by my journal and offering words of encouragement.
I went from 120 to 195 during my first pregnancy and it took me years to loose the extra weight (only too gain some of it back again ), good for you for reacting so quickly and participating in this challenge. Not only will it be good for you but your son will benefit from having a fit mom with tons of energy for play time.

Ji Jen!
First of all congratulations on ur little bundle of joy! It's great that you are making the choice to be a good role model for your child and for deciding to do something about what millions of others don't. We're with you every step!

Well it's been awhile and I have been going to the gym 3 times this week but made it count. I found it hard because of the busy schedule and working nights. My goal is to go 4-6 times this week. For the diet, well it has improved from what I was doing to now. I did however had a bite of rice krispie square while I making them for work on a night shift. This week I plan on eating more veggies and increasing my water up take. I have felt more energized and walk with more confidence(even though its only been 10 days!

Hey there jen, just popping in to see how you are doing.
Hope family is doing well, I commend you for doing this while working such crazy shifts and having a little one. I only wish I had seen the light so many years ago, I can just imagine the shape I could be in. Hats off to you lady!!!
