FL- Let the games begin!
Feb 27/08
Hi,
It's always a challenge to write about myself. It seems I can talk, and talk about everything and everyone else, but talk about me? Ok, 2004 I went to my first fitness competition, I never placed, but had a great time training, meeting new people. After the competition, in the summer of '04, I got Sciatica nerve problem in my back. It devastated me, and put me in a "whirlwind" of 8 months of pain, physio and depression. It was the same year I got married in Maui early October. But thankfully with all the stretching and physio, I could finally touch my toes and had a great wedding.
3 years later and 30lbs heavier, I realized I needed to get back into fitness. I contacted Linda again to get started on a program, but just could not get into the "groove" of working out, eating clean, and drinking water. My life at that time was taking me for a ride of an un-expected move to the United States (which never happened) and a dead end job. Finally in the summer of 07 I put myself through torture and signed up for "Bootcamp" at my gym. This bootcamp, KICKED MY ASS, only to realize how badly I was out of shape. But fortunately, I met a great guy who became my personal trainer in Calgary, and now have lost 25lbs! From 170lbs down to 145lbs, I'm back to my old regime! Lovin' life, feelin' good and happy! My goal now is to drop another 10, and gain 10lbs of muscle, dropping my body fat between 18-20% over the next 6 months. The age of 23 vs. the age of 28, seems a lot more challenging to gain muscle and strength. I set short term and long term goals consistently, and never feel guilty about anything, like I did 5 years ago. I don't want to compete, but I do want to be healthy and that has changed my mind, body and soul to be at peace of who I am and what I look like. "Fight for now, plan for tomorrow."
Good luck to everyone!

It takes a lot of courage to realize somewhere along the way a wrong turn was taking, Way to get yourself back on track
We are all in this together and together we will succeed.

Maintaining between 140-145lbs weight. Strength increasing, knees are occasionally in pain from running a lot. Got into my size 7 pants that been sitting in my closest for the last 2 years. Slowly seeing results. This week my goal is to stay consistent and be in the gym 6 days a week weight training.
