MsMarvel's Journey Continues
I am so pumped from my results of Linda's 30 day challenge that I finally set a deadline for me to be ready for my first comp. It is something that I have thought about for a long time now and when I finally get up on stage I will be dedicating my performance to Troy. He is the one turned me from a bystander to a participant and he had more faith in my ability then anyone ever has. With Linda's programs and knowledge I am planning on taking the next several months and pushing myself to the max. I printed off Beautiful Butt in 30 days and will start it tomorrow. Today I did a circuit workout and then went for a power walk. Last week I slipped a bit on my diet but cleaned it up today and now that I have my goal in sight I have more motivation to stay clean.
Squat with swiss ball 10lb bd x20
jumping jacks 1 minute
push ups bw x15
ropeless skip 1 minute
ham curls on ball x20
jumping jacks 1 minute
tricep extensions 10lbx20
ropeless skip 1 minute
db bicep curls 10lbx20
jumping jacks 1 minute
side laterals 7.5lbx15
front laterals 5lbx15
ropeless skip

crunches x20
rest 1 min repeat 3x's
30 minute power walk
8:00 am protein shake
10:30am extra lean kielbasa, skim milk cheese, trisket crakers
12:30 1/2 grapefruit
1:30 fish/green beans
4:30 protein shake, yogurt, almonds
6:30 apple
7:30 chicken breast, broccoli
10:00 bedtime shake
off to do some prep for the rest of the week, take care

Struggled a bit yesterday with the sets of 100, hamstring just not strong enough or ready to be worked so hard. Nerve and muscle still need time to heal so I didn't push past my comfort zone. Will just have to be patient and build up endurance slowly.
AM workout
Home Option body weight only
ball squats 100/100
ham ball curls 60/45
walking lunges 75/50
hip extensions 75/50
sumo squats 100/75
db outer thigh 75/60
quadriped 75/75 (lower back started to ache)
stretches
PM Cardio
1 hour power walk along millennium trail stopping at intervals to do 50 steps ups onto benches located along trail way.
stretches
Today
Pull Ups 3x10 assisted
15 min ab work
30 min treadmill, 15 incline/speed 4
stretches
Meals on track yesterday but a little lagging today. Sick, so not much of an appetite.

Ok, hate to admit it but last month was a complete right off for me. I got really sick, fell into a deep depression, didn't eat much and what I did eat was bad and no exercise. Most days it took all the energy I had just to get out of bed and make it through work just to get home and crawl back into bed. Trip to Florida did some good, the sunshine and warm weather helped to ease the depression enough for me to realize I didn't like the direction I was headed and am taking small baby steps to turn things around.
Forced myself to go for a walk after work today and it actually felt good. I ended up going to the local track where there is a playground and a baseball stadium and did a bit of a circuit thing. Walk there for warm up. 1 lap around track, pull ups on monkey bars at playground, 1 set of steps at stadium. 10 push ups. Repeat 5 times. Walk home for cool down, stretches.
Track 1/4 mile, on straightaways did stuff like high step, side shuffle, reverse lunges, hurdle run, sprint.
Monkey Bars - did one full unassisted pull up then 10 pulses at bottom of movement
Stadium Steps - 32 steps in each section, 8 sections. Up one, down next...to end and back, total of 16 sections or 512 steps is one set. Each set doing something different. Slow run single step, slow and low double step, double step side lunges with side leg raise, fast single step.
Not much but it's a start and hopefully I will keep moving forward without any more fall backs.
Haven't done my measurements but I did weight myself this morning and was surprised to see that I had only gained a few pounds. Will see if I can can my act together and take my measurements tomorrow.
Gotta get to bed, hope everyone had a great day

Goals for next 60 days..
1. To eat 5-6 clean meals a day
2. To drink 3-4 L water a day
3. To get back on my bike 2-3 times a week and work up to 1-2 hour rides.
4. To do strength training 3-4 times a week.
5. To loose 12lbs and lower my body fat.
6. To fit back into my summer dresses
7. To find inner peace.
I would like to try meditation but not sure where to really begin. I hear lots of good things about meditation helping with stress and inner peace, finding one self, but there seems to be so many different "ways" of doing it how does one know what is right for them? Currently I am just focusing on my breathing and trying to clear my mind, I realize it will take some time, but I am hoping to reach a higher level. To those of you who do meditate, do you have a teacher? Do you have a mantra? A guru? This lost soul would appreciate and welcome any guidance.

Hello beautiful,
Missed ya lots. Hope you are feeling a little better. I am so happy you are back. In regards to meditating I totally know what you mean about there being so many different ways. I think just trying different ways till you find what works best for you. I find its like yoga. Not every style is as rewarding as finding the way that works for you. Of course finding the right teacher is key. Look around, try different options and when you meet the right teacher, you will know. Excited to hear from you. Take care of yourself babe and sending you a big hug.
lots of love,
Jeannette
