Cin's journal to finally reaching her goal!
Okay, can you tell I am not creative in writing? Can't even think of a decent name for my journal. Ah well. next time.
Here is where I tell a little about me. I don't open up easy so you will find things out about me as I go along.
I'll give the basic's for now.
I'm 44.
I have 5 kids. All are grown. 1 is still at home. He's my baby and he's 11. I have 4 boys and 1 girl.
I have a dog named Nakota.
I have two ex's.
I tend to write things and open up, then delete it and start over. I just deleted 2 paragraphs. lol.
Okay, enough personal, hopefully you will follow my journey and get to know me.
Stat's
Height 5' 5"
Weight: fluctuate's between 144 and 141.
Chest: 35
Bicep: 12.5
Natural Waist: 28
At Naval: 34
Hips: 38
Thigh: 23.75
Calves: 14.5
I'll figure how to post pics later.
I've never been more than 20lbs overweight. But I can't seem to loose those last 10lbs of bodyfat.
I've been working out since my mid 20's. I remember never having woman's magazines and the fitness industry was just starting for women. They had to run obstacle courses. Some of the top fitness pro's were Monica Brandt. Vicky Pratt, Marla Duncun, Amy Fadhli, Mia Finnegan. yada yada.
They are what really got me off the step class only cardio and into the weight room.
I was in the best shape of my life after 4 kids.
Then I took a break that led to many other changes in my life. I had another child and while I always had a home gym and worked out, I never gave 100% to diet.
This is why I was never more than 10-20 lbs overweight, but this is also why I have NEVER EVER REACHED MY GOAL. for 10+ years........
I always get to a point that I look good in clothes, fit into my previous jeans and I loose motivation, although I am still not happy with what I see.
I am determined to reach my goal through diet and excercise.
I realize that I need to be on a plan or have things planned in order to do well.
I am going to be doing some kind of plan when I get back from vacation.
I am leaving to go hiking for a week in Vermont the 2nd week of August.
My Goals:
Weight: 130
BF%: no clue as I don't even know what cetain % look like
Cardio: to be able to do cardio at least 4 days/week without fighting myself to do it. Get it done and over with before 10am!
My ultimate fear/goal would be to do a competition. Only because I know it is amost impossible, that will be next after reaching weight goal.
Okay, that's all I can think of. I'll be back later to post w/o, eats.

Hey Cin44
...I think you're going to get alot of support here...
Most of these people around here are pretty sharp on the workout programs.

Hey lady we certainly can share!! So if I give a piece to you and Cindy, that leaves one left.....
It's a Liz Claiborn outlet.....we have them here in Ottawa too, but much, much smaller so not as good of deals and sizes are so much harder to find.
f'rinstance I picked up a sweater that reg. retails for $70C for $12C, Jeans that retail for $90C for $39, and it's good stuff quality wise too, which is important to me.

welcome.
once you understand that you will never see the muscles or 6 pack you want to see unless your bodyfat % is low, regardless of your weight, you may change your goals a bit. Theres no such thing as "toning up"
The weight loss part is easy, eat no carbs, do tons of cardio, youll burn fat, muscle and other lean tissue giving you the funky saggy runner look. (sorry runners)
Ive stopped looking at the scale over the years and use pictures, they tell a much better story.
PS. your avatar pic shows you look very much like Joely Richardson, the wife in Nip Tuck. Very nice

Thank You everyone for the boost and kind words!
Haha, I can't even think what would have happened to me had I posted over there. I DO have a temper...
But ya know, I am 44 and I STILL don't know what I am all about. Life is about learning about others and about yourself.
One day I'll be reading a book and think, "ya, that's me!
The next day I will read something else and find parts of me in that also.
The list goes on, my mood can change daily, that's what make me human.
So if I felt overtrained one day, big F. The next day I wake up and don't.
KWIM??
I would hate that someone would take my words, on a bad day, and use them against me.
Okay, I want my cake!
Here's my W/O that I did today.
AM= Cardio. Starimaster 30 minutes. Blah workout.
This really sucks sometimes,,, I can't get my HR in my zone, I'm sweating my butt off and breathing hard but it wont climb! Grrr. My RHR is really low some days. like 50bpm
PM 7:30-9:00 This was a long w/o but I am taking a week to recover.
Shoulders:
Military Press 4x12
Incline Lat raises 2x8,1x12,1x10
DB Press 3x8, 1x10
Rear cable flyes 2x12, 2x10
Tri's
Close grip BB press 1x16, 3x12
Press downs w/bar 4x12
Dip 8,10,8
Upper Abs. 100

My eats today:
I didn't count Macro's today. My diet has been off lately. I don't really eat bad, I just haven't been tracking. I know that I had more carbs than what I needed yesterday. Me and DH had a "tiff" and I don't eat when I'm down. So everything I ate yesterday was minimal and carbs. I did manage to get in 2 protein drinks. But I knew my Protein needed upped today.
M1: Coffee w/cream, 1 Kashi Waffle, 1/2 c. eggbeaters w/ 1 sl. Ham and 1 sl. FF cheddar.
M2: 1c.1% milk mixed with PP. Post cardio
M3: Salad with 4oz Chix, 1/4 Avacado, 1oz LF cheese, 2tbsp FF dressing, cukes, peppers.
M4: 1.5c goulash, made w/ lean beef, WW pasta, kidney beans, tomatoes, onions and peppers.
M5: 1/2c FF cottage cheese w/1 sm can fruit. PWO. 2:1 carb/protein ratio.
M6: TBD, something light and protein.
tomorrow I will start tracking macro's again, I just got lazy the last few days.
My head is in vacation mode, but it's still too far away for that to happen. I need to stick with my diet and w/o's till I go.
10 Days!
I plan on doing upper body while I am there, no lower as I will be hiking. So my w/o will not only be Fun! but challenging as well.!
Oh and I want to add! my skim milk was spoiled! Ugh. and I have these little freakin knats in the house. Where did they come from??? I set a trap for them today in the sink I put my cucumber peels and left them, then sprayed the little suckers when they were all at home. Problem solved!

Thanks for the kind words MooShue. Ya, I know there's no such thing as toning, lol. I still know where my body would be at a certain weight, even with muscle. I was skinny fat years ago. Not going there again.
I wish weight loss were easy for me. My body loves my fat and I can bleed easier than I can shed fat. But usually, when once it's gone, it's GONE. I have to google Joely Richardson. I don't watch a lot of TV. If you say Nice, I believe it! thanks!

TJ Maxx is my fave store when visiting stateside too!! I was floored by the prices there the first time I ever visited it!
I never pay full price for anything.......especially clothes. The retail markup on clothing is crazy ridiculous.....like between 400-600% markup from wholesale, so why pay full..they are still making money even at 75% off!!

Good Afternoon!
Hi Liz, I def know the feeling of running around! lol. That's why I FORCED myself to wait until after I had done my cardio and started the laundry before I got on here! I could stay on the computer all day! eek.
Hey Vanessa! my boobs are man-made, not god given. lol. I got them as a gift to myself a few years ago. I waited a loooong time and went through many thought process's before I did but I don't regret at all!
I like outlet shopping too. I have fallen victim so many times to buying high priced items in the mall only to see it at TJMaxx a few months later at less than 1/4 for what I paid. Grrrr.
I can't wait for my trip and I'll def take pics! Hopefully not just of my ass this time. Last time we went hiking, hubby had the video camera and all you see is my big ass in the pic for like 2 hours! I taped over it. hehe. This time I hold the camera!
My W/O today:
Cardio AM. 30 minutes Step.
My knee is Killing me today!
I think I overdid it last week. seriously. I trained 6days. Each group 2x
but Saturday I killed my legs. I think it was the step-ups. I did them at the gym instead of home and the step was higher.
I was walking like a gunslinger all day yesterday and the day before.
Today my hamstrings still feel extremely sore. I was going to do deadlifts and lunges tonight but I think I will wait.
I want to build up my endurance and leg strength, not break it down so by the time I go hiking I will be stronger and not in need of major recuperation.
I always tend to overdo it. That's why I need a plan. I am used to working past physical pain and I ignore it. Then I regret it, but it's too late.
I'll post weights and eats later on tonight. I am just following my menu today for med carb day.
Have a great day!

Hi Cindy..
I'm the same way. If i don't have a plan..meal or workout. I overdo.
Tj Maxx is the place. I get all my workout clothes there or Target..my all time fave store
I might have to go tomorrow since i've been talking about it so much..
Can't wait to see the pictures of your trip..
How long are you going to be gone..

Haha, I was thinking the SAME thing. I need new clothes for Vermont right??
I am leaving the 8th and coming back on the 16th. We are flying up. I hate flying! But I have also driven that enough times to know that it's more dangerous driving the 20+ hours to get there. Not to mention less of a hassle.
I am also excited because my daughter, who lives in Mass in coming with us! without her BF!! YAY! I haven't seen her since the end of November. So we will have some fun hanging by the pool.
It sucks because she doesn't have internet, but we pay for her cell so she always can call. The closer it gets the more nervous I get about flying but then I just know that I pop a couple of Ativan and I'm good. lol. !!!
