Talking The BfB Chronicles

Ahhhh......my shiney new journal!! Why the new journal? Because I've started a new program. The goal of this program is to make some lean gains. As I leaned down nicely, I began to ponder where I was going. My clothes are fitting way better, and in some cases some of them are even too loose now. Definitely NOT a complaint, but just an indicator to myself that I have lost LBM since becoming a mom. Once again I do not have a specific time frame to accomplish any set goal, as I've got my entire lifetime, God willing, to figure this out, lol!! However I do intend to do this program till March/April and will reassess my needs/wants at that time.....naturally I will keep my thoughts and feelings posted as they are always relevant to the outcome of anything.

My starting stats:

Height: 5'2"
Weight: 117lbs

As for measurements.......I'm not gonna put those up right now. Can always refer to my Lean N' Mean journal for those at this time. Otherwise I'll put up measurements in a month's time, to follow pattern with my end of month reports.

So, if you're following me along.....cozey up, grab yourself a nice cuppa tea! This is gonna be a fun ride!

Default Back, Chest & Obliques

New program is IN!! It's a refreshing (if I can use that term loosely) change. I've looked things over and re-read several times and I think I'm gonna be just fine with this Some of the movements I am unfamilliar with, or maybe they've been given different names....anyhoo, I couldn't wait for clarification, I was too gung ho, so I went ahead and modified where I wasn't certain till I hear otherwise. After doing this workout I'm feeling really good! Of course my muscles are feeling fatigued as they should be too. I think I heard my body breathe a sigh of relief and appreciation for the lowered cardio component today as well.....I think my body was really ready for a changeup......so here it is!!

Mid/Upper Back, Chest and Obliques - Trisetting -3x10

A) D.B Row: 3x10@20
A) D.B Chest Press: 3x10@20
A) Weighted Side Bends: 3x10@20

B) Lat Pull Alt: front/back: 3x10@37
B) Side Delt: 3x10@8
B) Weighted Oblique Crunches using hyper bench: 3x10@8

C) Cable Row: 3x10@41
C) Pec DecK: 3x10@35
C) Oblique Floor Crunch: 3x10@10

Cardio: 10mins skipping rope PRIOR to weights.
10mins treadmill: 11%incline @ 3.4mph (was to be a stepmill, or stepper but I don't have one of those)

I won't bother posting up meals today as they weren't quite on plan......all I will say about the meals for this month, is this chickita aint gonna go hungry! In fact I know I'm gonna have some adjustments to make, but that's what the first week or two is gonna be about anyways. It's my learning curve, and let's not forget that I've been leaning since June, so I'm gonna be learning to walk all over again.

So that's my Day 1, one day early....because like any kid at Christmas time, I just couldn't wait

Default Legs, Glutes, Bi's and Tri's - trisetting

Day 2 and I can see why I'm gonna be having a rest day on Day4, lol!! This is as I said, a nice change. Challenging and hard, but I LIKE IT, I like it ALOT! Today's w/o was a biggie!! 5 tri-sets! In some ways, I'm feeling pewney as I picture others more seasoned than I, but everybody has to start somewhere...besides.......I never said my goal was to squat 260 atg or bench my bodyweight.......I'm always about the health of it, and a pinch or narcissism, lol!! I love a challenge, that's all.
My eats are slowly building up there, today being better than yesterday....I figure by week's end, I should be well in the swing of things.

Legs, Glutes, Arms and Calves - Trisetting- 3x10

A) Front BB Squat: 3x10@95
A) Hamstring Curl (standing cable): 3x10@15e
A) Butt Blast: 3x10@b.w to get form down

B) Standing B.B Calve Raise: 3x10@95
B) Tibia Pull w/cable: 3x10@21e
B) Cable Hip Ext: 3x10@8e

C) B.B Curls: 3x10@30
C) Weighted Dips: 3x10@35
C) Internal/External Rotator Cuff-cable: 3x10@8.5(internal),6(external)

D) SLDL: 3x10@65
D) Leg Ext: 3x10@47
D) Hip Thrust: 3x10@b.w

E) Cable Curls: 3x10@11e
E) Cable Pushdowns: 3x10@20
E) Hip Drop on Ball: 3x10@25

~Whew!! This w/o whipped me arse! My arms and legs and bumm are feelin' it now, lol!! Oh all in the right ways of course!

Today's Eats: are still not on plan....but will definitely be tomorrow! I was out most of the day today so I had to rely on resources....and most likely didn't get the right kind of cals today.

So that is my today......

Hi Lizzie! I finally got back here.... It's been awhile. I have been on O2 just abit here and there but I actually got a new laptop and lost this website and could not, for the life of me, remember what it was called. I finally got a friend request last night and it e-mailed me so I got the addy again!
Anyway, how have you been?? I got to skim through your (new) journal and it looks like you will be building some Muscles over the winter! YAY for you.
I totally envy your cold weather and the ability to wear boots and sweaters!
okay, for maybe a week or two and then I want my warm weather back, lol. Anyway, I got this place bookmarked again so I don't loose touch. I may start journaling again soon.

OMG!! Cindy how the heck are ya?! Yeah, I lurk every so often at 02 just for kicks, but I've moved on from there.
It was time for a changeup for me....tweeking, lol!
I know what you mean...I always feel like "wow, I loved that sweater...I can't wait to wear it, oh and those boots......mitts, hats, scarves, coats, jackets, shovelling, scraping, oh and did I already say shovelling, lol!! I was born in the summer, so my theory is that it is totally against my nature to be in the winter......One of these years I'd love to experience a green Christmas, with palm trees and a sand beach.....just for kicks!

Well if you do start journalling again, please copy to here! I'd love to keep in touch!

As for me......summer went too quickly! Hell, time just passes too quickly now, when the heck did that start happening, lol! Seriously, we are all doing fine......kids are growing way to quickly, it astonishes me! Gerry and I are doing great....we like to keep our lives simple, as busy as we are (is that even possible?), lol!

It seems like I was just taking down the christmas decorations and now it's time to put them all up again.. Do you celebrate christmas? if so, are you ready????lol. buying the little kids toys was always my favorite part of shopping, so much more exciting than shopping for video games. blah, boring.

I shouldn't complain, really. Hubby does most of the shovelling......and I get to play outside in the snow with the kiddies, lol!! Funny thing is, neither of my kids like hot chocolate.....I think that's great!

Yes, we do celebrate christmas, allbeit low key. I love to decorate, and putting up the tree. I do a few of my choice faves for baking.....I make truffles to bring as gifts, and I bake cookies for the kids. My daughter likes to help too. As for shopping......we collect all year round for the kids and stuff it all away like squirrels, lol! We always have too much, and it covers birthdays as well....we are pretty much that with all gifts actually. As for each other, we keep it simple.....I do love shopping for the kids though, it is the coolest.
My daughter wants this animated rideontop triceratops (yeah, go figure!!) I giggle every night I put her to bed, whben she tells me what she wants Santa to bring her.......NO!! We've not purchased it......and if I do, it will be an on-line order. I'm not going looking for it out there.

Video games...yeah hubby's all about the games! He's got enough pc games to open his own store, lol!! I just have my mom and Gerry left to shop for, and they are really easy one stop shopping sort of deals....so I can go anytime for that stuff....

And you?......

LOL, you have way more willpower than me, if I had gifts collecting year round I would end up giving it to them! haha. My daughter was always the most difficult. She would make her list for christmas on Thanksgiving day and styles would change so rapidly, that by christmas she wanted something completely different. I am going out today shopping for some more stuff. I already have most of it. I got my youngest son a Wii, which we will play too. haha. and tons of accesories and my daughter I got a new phone (which I already gave to her, lol) and Mike a blackberry. I just need to get out today. I refuse to go on the weekends. People are nuts this time of year!!

OMG, I have seen that commercial for the riding dinosaur about 3 times through every show on tv! It is cute...

Ooooo....now I'd love a blackberry.....don't ask me why, lol!! I just love gadgets, flashy buttons shiney colors, and e-mail access anytime anywhere, I'd be inheaven....broke, but in heaven, lol!!
Wii....yeah Vanessa got one a couple of weeks ago....she's really enjoying the wii-fit and wii-yoga too. I have an addictive personality when it comes to video games.....luckily for me, I don't have access, the kids wouldn't let me near the t.v!! Heck, I'm waay behind on that shit too....I've still just got the 'Super Nintendo'.....love Donkey Kong and Mario, lol!!

I know what you mean about having a hard time saving things till x-mas. It's really hard to keep things that long.....and Gerry's even funnier, it really burns him to have to wait. I most often get my gifts earlier than the day because he's like a big kid and can't wait!

A1 and bluebird: After researching this triceratops it's gonna cost close to $500 tax in!! Sooooo sadly for my dinosaur loving daughter...she's gonna have to settle for some more Disney Princess babies, lol!! I missed out on the deal with all my fence sitting...it was $100 cheaper last night, and when I decided today...o.k, let's do it..it's silly and uneducational....but it would be fun! The price had increased! Oh well....there'll always be something else won't there.

Default Day4 - Mid Upper Back, Chest, Obliques

Yesterday was a 'rest' day so nothing to log there. Nice to have a rest day in the middle of the week like that. Does a body good. Today restarts the 3 day split again.....then in week to the reps changeup.....don't recall offhand if it will be 3x12 or 4x10....it's on paper elsewhere at the moment, lol! Anyhoo....so far things are going very well. I'm feeling good, and that heavy fatigue I had been feeling in the past is now all in the past.....so again, I know this was the right choice for my body (me) at this time. I'm really looking forward to seeing what I can accomplish on this one too. And there's always new inspiration to be found too. Yeah, I want to look like a competitor, but 'just'* be a regular woman/mom/wife, lol!!
*there's nothing 'just' about it, lol!

Mid/Upper Back, Chest and Obliques - trisetting

A) D.B Row: 3x10@25(+)
A) D.B Chest Press: 3x10@20
A) Weighted Side Bends: 3x10@20

B) Alt Front/Back Lat pulldown: 3x10@42(+)
B) Side Delt Raise: 3x10@10(+)
B) Russian Oblique Twists:3x10@10 (I changed this one up so as not to be too similar to the other oblique movements on this day....thoughts?)

C) Seated Cable Row: 3x10@48.5(+)
C) Pec Deck: 3x10@37.5(+)
C) Oblique Floor Crunch: 3x10@15(+)

Cardio:
10mins jump rope PRIOR to lifting
10mins treadmill: 11%incline @3.4mph AFTER lifting.

Today's Eats:

m1) 1c kashi, 1c f.f milk
m2) 22 almonds, 1/2 banana (pre-workout)
m2b) PWO shake
m3) celery, carrots, hummus, 2oz turkey breast
m4) protein n' water
m5) tilapia, broccoli, sweet potatoe
m6) f.fcottage cheese broccoli

So that's my today......my last 3meals aren't EXACTLY according to plan...though trying to stay within the macros...it's just b/c I'm not feeling hungry enough at this moment to eat cottage cheese.....so m4 is swapped with m6 as a result....I don't think there's any real harm done doing that (???)

Funny you say that A1......DH and I were joking around this morning about getting a herd and putting them in the backyard and yelling "stampede!!"

I think your idea would work though!! Given the choices... 'hun what do ya think about a bigscreen hdtv?!" she says "nah, we've got this to pay or that to pay"....you come back with the herd of triceratopses as a counter offer......your now sitting back watching the game in BIG HDTV style!! Smoothe and Sweet!!

Default Legs, Glutes, Bi's and Tri's

I was sort of on the fence today as to what I should do workout-wise. I wasn't able to get my w/o in yesterday.....it was decided we put up our tree instead, and well if any of you have little ones, you know the mayhem that ensues. My dillemma today was do I skip legs this week, and do today's w/o today OR do I do yesterday's today??? I decided to do the latter, and go with the flow.......

Legs, Glutes, Bi's and Tri's - trisetting

A) Front BB Squat: 3x10@100(+)
A) Hamstring Curl: 3x10@ 20e(+)
A) Butt Blast: 3x10@ b.w

B) Standing BB Calve Raise: 3x10@100(+)
B) Tibia Cable Pulls: 3x10@ 27.5(+)
B) Cable Hip Ext: 3x10@10e(+)

C) BB Curls: 3x10@35(+)
C) Weighted Dips: 3x10@35(+)
C) Internal/External Rotator: 3x10@8.5(internal), 6(external)

D) SLDL: 3x10@65,55,55(-)
D) Leg Extension: 3x10@51(+)
D) Hip Thrust: 3x10@15

E) Cable Curls: 3x10@11e
E) Cable Pushdowns: 3x10@24.5(+)
E) Hip Drop on Ball: 3x10@35(+)

~Woot!! Look at all those plus signs....small gains, but I like to see that...it's encouraging. One minus, where I felt my lower back wasn't gonna be too pleased with me, so I backed off on that one, esp since tomorrow is low back day.

Today's Eats: Cheat Day!!

m1) 2 eggs poached, ham, brown toast no butter.
m2) kashi bar and 1/2 banana
m3) 2c mixed greens, can tuna, evoo and applecider vinegar
m4) Vietnamese noodle soup - seafood(squid, crab, fish, and shrimp) in chicken broth, tapioca noodles. 1 shrimp rollup w/peanut sauce and hoisin
m5) protein n' f.f yogurt, w 1tbsp p.b

Cardio: 10mins recumbant 75% PRIOR to lifting
10mins recumbant 75% AFTER lifting

And that was my today!!

On a sidenote my tree is adorable......I let my daughter decorate the bottom halof of the tree with decorations she and I made together, they are unbreakable....so half my tree is preschooler friendly and the top half is my own decor....it's priceless.
