Calorie Counter
Does anyone have a good reference for calorie counts on most foods? I'm trying to keep track of what I eat on a daily basis, but it would be nice to guesstimate on how many calories +/- are in chicken sandwich, baked salmon, etc. etc.
Thanks

I usually source my foods through fitday.com....breaks it all down nicely. There are other sites out there as well, but I find this one simplest to use.

I've only been using it for about 5 days now, but so far so good. Amazing how fast calories can add up with some of the day to day foods we can buy when in a hurry.

Isn't it amazing?! Things you think are 'safe' to eat....turn out to be crapp, lol!! I found that fitday really helped me with getting macro's to be second nature (Protein, Fats and Carb ratios) when choosing foods on my own.
Glad I was able to help

just wanted to add, FitDay keeps track of things for me, but I find its database limited when I'm researching the nutritional content of any particular food. So, I created a lot of "custom foods" for things I eat on a regular basis, and I just enter the calorie count, etc etc from CalorieKing - Diet and weight loss. Calorie Counter and more. Calorie King has the greatest nutrition content database of anything you can think of, from raw ingredients to fast food meals, all automatically calculated based on the amount you actually ate (i.e., 8 oz soda rather than 12 oz, etc).
so if you can't find what you ate on fitday, you can probably find it on calorieking.com and carry that over to your fitday meals.

fit day is good, but i like more pinpoint accuracy and ability to have it locally on my computer and cell phone. I use calorie king and have for about 3 years now.
Even if you dont want to buy/use it, it still has a great database online to look up most common foods and even restaurants.
