One Day At A Time~~My Workout Journal
That's the way i plan on losing the weight. I'll just focus on one day at a time and try not to get to anal.
I use to journal here last year
Here is a little background
I'm 43 and i live with my fiance Steve and my 20 year old daughter Brittany. Oh and let's not forget my baby Muffin..my little chihuahua.
In 2002 i weighed 220 pounds. It came mostly from being in a bad marriage and dealing with abusive parents. So i lost the weight and divorced my husband and told my family i was no longer going to deal with the abuse.
I got down to 140 my lowest weight before i started lifting in 2005. Since i have been lifting the lowest weight was 121.
My first love has always been running. I feel in love with lifting three years ago.
Since then i've been going back and forth between running and lifting trying to find that perfect mix.
For me the biggest problem has always been my diet. I know i can't eat to many starchy carbs so i keep those for very early in the day.
Since December i have put on a few pounds and i just can't seem to get back in the swing of things. I'm thinking of trying a few different thing to mix it up since what i have been doing isn't working for me
Here is my starting measurments
Height-5'2
Weight-135
Chest-33
Waist-31
Hips-37
Thigh-21.5
Calf-14
Bi-10

Wow, you have an impressive weight loss history, Vanessa! I'm sure you will find a suitable combo once again. Have you tried biking for your aerobic? Perhaps Yoga or Pilates?

Hey.......Miss Vanessa's in da hizzle!!
What a surprise to see you back here.........a nice warm welcome surprise that is!!
I know what you mean about MFhers....it's been like that since last night actually. That site gets spammed alot, so I think that's what happened and it's totally overlaoded as the message says too many connections.....disappointing though. This where I hail, but I have a few friends there I enjoy keeping up with......it's a nice friendly site, and nobody's too hung up on much. I entered a contest there actually, it finishes up this month. "Winter meltdown challenge".j to see who could make the most impressive transformation in 12weeks. I didn't expect to win or anything, just thought it would be fun.....I was in a building phase so obviously no dramatic weight loss stories or stuff like that, lol! Sometimes I just like to play 'what if?', lol!
How was shopping with Brittany yesterday? Did find any great deals?

I love the magazine so i thought i'd give the message boards a try..everyone there seems very sweet.

I'm feeling a little better today. The past week i've been a little out of it.
I had a nice run this morning. It was about 55* so i got to wear shorts for the first time since the fall. Just finished my oats and i'm getting ready to lift.
I've been doing one of Linda's old programs i got last year.
I'll be back later to update..

LOL..
I'm the same way. I always give to the animal shelter here first. I know that sounds so bad but the way i see it is animals have nobody to care for them.
I'm always giving blankets, food and things like that to them. I have a shelter about 2 mile from me. I find it hard to go past the front desk. It breaks my heart and i want to take them all home.
Muffin is doing great.

I don't think that sounds bad at all! I get so tired of all the charities like cancer and lung. which I have contributed to due to the closeness of these issues in my family and my life and then I find out they use animals for testing and research............I do not really condone that so I stopped contributing and stick with animal charities only. We need to use humans to test on, not animals,we are human so the testing should be on humans plus a human can do this of their own will...........

I don't even know if there are any prizes to be had.....just was fun to get on board with the gang, lol!

I am agains animal testing too....however some of the tests they use animals for would be death to a human, or no human would volunteer for.......though my remedy for this situation would be to use all lifer's in prison, child molestors, rapist....all perpetrators of heinous crimes.....let THEM be our guinea pigs......I'd pay taxes to fund that!!

exactly so its not fair to trick animals into these test using their trust and innocence.........life is life....mind you with todays technology we can be choosier about animal welfare and I guess some of our tech would not be here without the help of animals although I think there is always another way........

Have you ever just looked in the mirror and thought WTF
What happened to me...
Before the holidays i was just starting see some progress.
I guess i got comfortable and thought i could go off plan for just awhile.
I should know better.
So last week i took some pictures and compared them to pictures i took at the end of August..i wanted to cry.
But then it kind of lite a fire in me. I know i can get back to that place i just have to get back on plan.
I have been spinning my wheels for the past two and a half months trying to decide what i needed to do.
I wanted a plan that was easy to follow and with someone i knew would answer my questions and emails. I think those of you that know me..know i'm talking about the problems i had with the SOS Cathy Savage plan i was doing last year.
So i decided to ask Linda for her help. So i'm back doing the Lean & Mean program. I love the way the April plan looks.
I'm hoping to now melt off some of this fat...yuck...

Good for you Vanessa!! It's sounding as though you are getting closer to your 'happy place'!
Banish that thought "hoping to" and replace it with "I am going to" because girl, if you stick with it.....it's gonna happen! Besides, Linda won't let it 'not' happen...if you stick with it!
Awesome news about April's plan too.....I'm doing that one as well, I'm really anxious to start it, but I'm finishing up my little 'rest' week and will commence probably Sunday......
Linda: But if we were to boycott everything that was tested on animals....we'd be without makeup, clothing, all medicines and tests, all our supp's we take, oh the list would go on and on.......even if a product says "not tested on animals" doesn't mean the packing it comes in was not used in animal testing or the result of animal testing...dyes, plastics everything we humans come in contact with has been tested somehow on animals.

Good Morning,
I've been thinking about the plan Linda sent me yesterday. After i looked at it i sent her an email about the diet plan. I'm very anal about the way i eat so i sent her my meal plan and asked her if it looked ok..she said it did..but i got to thinking..
Why don't i at least give it a chance...try something different. Maybe that is what my body needs. Besides some for the meals look very interesting...
Well time for my run
Be back later...
