'Cept that I cut my hair off for the summer.....I've always been more of a short and sassy kind of gal, lol!! Was just easier when the kids were babies to have it long just throw it in a pony and we're done......but I like me in short hair best......but I can see that me and the gal in the banner probably have the same body type and shape of face. As for pilates.....I haven't got a clue about that stuff, lol!! I had to google the 100's for this month's program, lol!!

Anyhoo......I'm sort of being a lazy ass this week. I didn't get ANY training in whatsoever yesterday. Was at my Mom's for the afternoon and just plain didn't feel like doing it by evening time.....no excuses there. Today I did 60mins cardio. The first 30 were intervals consisting of the highest speed 4mph and the highest incline 10% and the last 30 were just on my recumbant at level 4 down to level 2.
Will be leaving town tomorrow and hoping to return revived and raring to go!!

Eats are on plan for the day though....

So if I don't get back in here b4 the night is through.....have a great week-end all!!!

thanks 6-Pak Girl!!!

man this had to be the bestest week-end for weather so far!!! Hot and sunny and no rain till we were ready to hit the highway anyways, lol!! Super!
We bought the kids a swing set, just one of those steel thingamabobbers, but has a slide 2 swings, and foot swing, some hanging thing swing and a glider thingy too. We also bought a sprinkler for thekids to play in....it's a dog and it's head flips side to side as the water shoots out....cute, and the kids loved it too......soooo me being me, I decided to turn their slide into a water slide using this sprinkler.....now they were having a blast of a time.......and well, I was able to get some plants into the ground! When things start blooming, I'll take pics and post them up.....should be very pretty. Got a little painting done in the house but not much........it may rain here this week-end so I may let Gerry go up on his own to get some 'real' work done on the house.......it is sooo hard to get much done with the kids around, lol!! My side is allright, I'm outdoors anyways......so I can work and play at the same time or in intervals.....Gerry has to stop everything just to go get a bite to eat, lol!! Ah well.......what can you do?

Kept my eats fairly strict over the week-end....pulled in the reigns on the cheats due to my slack ass-ed-ness last week. I certainly won't be letting that happen this week.......time wise I'm still on schedule as far as my program goes for this month so I don't feel I've fallen behind or anything.....weight is holding at 119.6 or as my Dr. informes me this a.m "we mayas well call it 120lbs, lol!!" Whatever......apparently I'm in good health and to keep up the good work........he hasn't seen me for 3yrs so since then I've lost fat and gained muscle so that's cool all around!!

Got back last night, and took today as a day of complete rest...mainly due to 2 nights of sleepus interruptus all night long so I'm totally exhausted today....BUT ready to kick ass tomorrow with my workouts

I did finally take the kids to the park this afternoon.......they were ecstatic!! Myself, I was trying to figure out just where exactly the guy hung himself.....details were never given. A piece of yellow police tape still lay in the mulch around the play structure....a mute reminder of what went down there.
My kids on the other hand had an absolute blast....playing with kids younger than themselves and also kids older than themselves....my daughter is fearless and is always trying to emulate the older kids.....much to my dismay.....she's only 4yrs old, what's it gonna be like when she 15yrs I give her a little wiggle room though to test herself out.....she very smart and very physcially adept, so there isn't much she can't do, however there are things where she just isn't big enough to do and that's where I'm the nasty and step in and ruing her fun, lol!!

I'll take some pics of my flower gardens here at home this week as they are blooming and I am sooo very pleased with the results......my veggies are coming right along as well, but not really photoworthy yet as they are still seedlings.

Tomorrow is business as usual as far as fitness/training goes.....

Default Business as Usual: Wk3 do-over

Another superb day!! Gawd, I'm just loving the weather.......sunny skies and a high of 23C......awesome!! Got alot of yardio done this aft. as well........who knew that digging and thrashing in a garden could raise one's heartrate like that?!! It's because I've got this one bed that has been let go a bit and certain tenacious plants have now taken over.......it requires me using a potatoe fork to get down beneath the roots and pull.....it's much like cutting and lifting sod as the root systems of theses plants are so enmeshed.....it's just crazy, but it's looking sooooooo much nicer now too! I took some pics of my flower beds this morning....I'll get them posted tomorrow........

Now on with today's workout.....y'know, the one that isn't yard related, lol!!

I am basically repeating what was to be last week's workout since I got in only one of my workouts last week......I'm getting alot of upper body work just doing all this landscaping so, I'm not worried about it at all. Again I will be doubling up on some workouts in case we decide to hit the highway Friday.....just seems to work well for me.

Wk3 - Day 1&2 combined: 3x10

1A) Leg Press: 3x10@161,161,144
1B) Hammy Curls (standing cable): 3x10@21e

2) Incline DB Press: 3x10@25

3A) Inner Thigh: 3x10@16, 13.5,13.5
3B) Outer Thigh: 3x10@16,13.5,13.5
3C) Sumo Squat: 3x10@53.5

Abs: Pilates 100's
Hand to Foot Ball Pass: 3x10 (I love the burn these give!)
~should be noted that this workout was done after all of my yardwork this morning......it was about 90mins-2hrs of heavy yardwork

today's eats:
m1) kashi n' milk
m2) ff yogurt
m3) 1c mixed greens, 3/4can salmon(ran out of tuna), raspberry vinegrette: I omitted the chesse due to extra fats in salmon
m4) Pwo shake and 11 almonds
m5) emu, brown rice and broccoli
m6) protein n' water + glutamine b4 bed

today's cardio:
30mins treadmill: program - max incline 8%, max speed 3.5mph...things change-up every 3mins
~ I didn't do a full 60mins because I really worked my ass of in the gardens today and really felt it would've been overkill.....the goal is to not burn myself out and be able to finish the week's workouts, lol!!

so that's my today in a nutshell......things seem to coming along though.....I'm seeing some nice shape in my delts and arms. I've still got a stubborn layer of fat over my abs but it's getting thinner, that layer, woot!! should prive to be an interesting month as far as results go!!

Default Wk3 redo - Upper Body

Yet another stellar day here!! gonna have to soak it all in as much as possible because it's supposed to rain the entire week-end....ho-hum! Oh well, that's allright too....we may go for an overnighter at the trailer most likely Sunday-Monday if it's supposed to rain all week-end long.

Today's training is just regular....no doubling up, nothing extra.
Wk3redo - Upper Body - Day3

Handstand press: 3x10
Tricep cable Pressdown: 3x10@32
Tricep Pushups: 3x10
V-sits: 3x10

Today's cardio: 60secs each AMR:
jax, crunches, jog on spot, pushups, squat leaps, rear lunge, knees to chest, side skate leaps, horizontal chins, hop on one leg, hop on the other leg, hamball curls, weighted crunch on ball@25#, low back on ball AND burpees.......DONE!!

Today's eats:
m1) oatmeal w nuts n' raisins (1tbsp)
m2) banana and 1/4c almonds
m3) *improvised* 1c diced emu, 1c broccoli, 1/2c hummus (I don'thave any green beans and needed to use up leftover emu)
m4) pwo shake + 8 almonds
m5) salmon steak, steamed spinach, sweet potatoe
~ I do seem to improvise alot with my meals.....I'm sure it's falling into the right macro's otherwise I'd hope that Linda would be in here cracking the whip so to speak, lol!! It's just that I don't always have all the exact ingredients on hand....or simply just like to switch it up.....

No yardwork was done today.......I was tempted but I really felt bagged this morning and thought maybe I should stick to plan today and not go overboard (ha! My middle name, lol!!)
Photos of my works of passion (gardens) here at home have been uploaded to my album now as well.....

On a more personal note, I heard from my lawyer yesterday Good Lord this is gonna take forever and a day to ever get finished it seems!! Courts require that I close my old file from 16yrs ago.....o.k, fine, I knew this already.....my lawyer is trying to keep the costs down for me and we are trying to avoid going to court to ask for a motion as this will cost even more for my lawyers time in court and fees etc....not to mention that I would be required to show in court as well. My ex would be requested to appear as well.......we are trying to avoid this........so we have to go the s-l-o-w route......I file a petition to close the old file based on last known addy from old file (neither one of us will recieve or respond). the law requires that I wait 60 or it may even be 90days for a response......after that time period having no response, I may reapply to the courts for a divorce and then can serve him, my ex, personally then........so it's looking like nothing is even gonna get started in present time until September Don't you just love the justice system??? I guess Gerry and I will have to look ahead sometime in 2010 to get married......maybe we'll do it Vegas Style, lol!!!

Default Last week of June!!

Well here it is....the last week of June!! I have been a week ahead of plan since starting my leaning so this week I'm sorta in limbo, lol!! I decided to go back to my first w/o in this journal....the tabat, high rep stuff......I feel like I need a good swift kick in the arse these days, lol!! And I know that one is gonna give it to me too . I'm kinda riding a bit of a roller coaster with my emotions these days and my workouts have been suffering as a result.....too tired, too busy *insert any whiney excuse here * It's coming from a few places....my youngest's birthday is coming up soon...he's gonna be 3yrs old...my baby's not a baby anymore, lol.......and well that also means neither am I My birthday is coming up after his, I'll be 42 and for some bizarre reason I am feeling fat, frumpy and forty-sumthing, lol!! Emphasis on the fat and frumpy.....the fat feeling is coming from waaaaay to many cheats and I feel like this has thrown me right off.....I'm pretty good but 3 cheat days a week has given me waaaay too much freedom mentally and I can easily justify chips, cookies, icecream etc as part of my cheat day when really I shouldn't......but hey, now I know what my own personal limits are even if it is just a mental thing......tomorrow I'll be sending in pics and stats, I don't think I've done too poorly progress wise considering however I also feel I could have done better too.
So far this summer is proving to be challenging to get all of my workouts done in the week......since we have bought this cottage house to renovate, we are always there on week-ends and it's not as easy to get in some metabolic work on the front lawn in a residential neighbourhood with everybody watching.....as opposed to the quiet isolation of 'the farm' where you could practically run around naked......yeah, I'm missing it BIG TIME......I like the house, don't get me wrong......but it's a whole different experience from being at the farm....I am hoping once we get more regular there and more settled within the house to be able to get out for some runs in the neighbourhood or along the highway.....So this is my challenge.......to really tighten up the diet on week-ends, find a way to get it all in as far as my workouts go or at least find a momentum to get into.....

Otherwise life is good.......busy, but good

Default July- Day1 - High Intensity

the god's of color are conspiring against me today......it'll just have to be black and white I guess, lol!!

Talk about sporadic updates huh?! Life's been busy and hectic and the weather much too nice to be indoors in front of my pc.......you get it right?

Sent in my pics and such to Linda yesterday and am continuing to make progress, even after a on again off again month of June. I do think all my yardio aided in those times when I wasn't feeling the workouts, lol!! Seriously.....I was working my ass off out there......luckily now, gardening season is winding down for me so I can actually relax in the great outdoors a bit....but that also means I've got to be consistent in my workouts and aim to kick my ass each and every time! No slacking this month.....it'll be hard enough since my son will celebrate his 3rd next week, but my mother is doing a party for him this Friday......then of course I will do up something for him on his actual birthday.......then I, myself will be having a birthday in 3wks time.....so more cake......I do LOVE cakes Yep this month will be a challenge, and all the more reason to push push push I'm up for it though, I feel like I was such a slacker the past 2wks that I am ready to kick it up a bit!

Tomorrow is a holiday here (Canada Day), no real big plans on my part......I hate crowds so I tend to stay away from the downtown core where all the action is......most likely will just be taking it easy around the house and such. I will be keeping on plan......I also reflected on last years leaning process and realized that I did my bestest despite going away on week-ends....those were more or less 'off' days usually with some sort of cardio component...so why am I not looking at things the same way this year? Dunno......but I seemed to have developed an all or nothing mentality and well that just doesn't work in the real world......so with great relief, I have let that mentality go and am going to follow my programs as they are laid out, but according to my schedule.....so some weeks I'll be lifting 3 hi days and some will be 3 low days and the rest will mellow in between.....cardio is 20mins of all out intensity 6 days a week and I'm good for that too.....so other than the birthdays I should be allright.....and I 'feel it' too, so yeah it's all good!

Now for todays w/o. It is a high intensity day so things are done circuit style today.

Circuit: 3x10

Weighted Squat leaps: @10# plate (don't have a plyo ball)
Burpees to Chins
Ball Pushup to Pike

Crunches: 10x10@b.w, 2.5, 3, 5, 8, 10, 12.5, 15, 20, 25

Today's Cardio:
20mins treadmill:max incline - 10% min incline - 2%
max speed - 4mph min speed - 3.5mph
~speeds and incline changeup every 60seconds

today's eats (hi carb day)

m1) apple, p.b, then banana
m2) ff yogurt
m3) legume 'salad' w/ evoo and applecider vinegar
m4) hummus and broccoli
m5) x-lean turkey sausuage and mixed veggies (broccoli, onion and green beans in place of snow peas) stir fried......I defrosted the sausage 2 days ago so I NEED to use it up.....they are gluten free as well.
m6) ff cottage cheese and glutamine b4 bed

Overall a great workout as my HR was elevated the entire workout and only rested long enough between weights and cardio to get kids a snack and drink, lol!!

I'm not really gonna make too much comment on the high profile losses in the media these days. I will say Ed McMahon lived a good life, Farrah Fawcette faught the good fight (I've seen too many people now live and die with cancer....horrific disease and I wish it would be irradicated). As for the highest profile death in the news these days....MJ, I can only say if it wasn't suicide, it was......poor tortured soul, alas, may he rest in peace.

Default Day2 - High2

Decided to do another high day today.....I'm allowed to choose so I went as suggested...2 high days, 2 low days and one of each then rest something like that.......though my rest day will be not on day 7, but somewhere in between.....Canada Day here today.....we didn't do much...went for adrive visited family....a normal day for us.
I gotta say I'm loving this month's workout though.....great intensity, and my h/r is seemingly elevated straight through....awesome!

High2: Straight sets ( I chose not to circuitt his one)

Side steps off bench: 3x10@40,30,30 per leg ( was supposed to be a 45lb plate, but I have tiny hands and my plates don't have handles so I used d.b's)
single leg squat: 2x18@20per side
Weighted decline pushups: 2x10@10
Incline Calve raisse using ball: 2x30@40,30,30
Side walking sumo's: 4x5 per side@35
mid back row: 4x25@32, 22 last 7reps of last set.
~the first week is always a learning curve, especially with new movements. I took it easy with the step offs to be sure of form....goal is to do 45lbs by end of month....but not plated as I can't grip the plate well enough, lol!!

Eats today:
m1) Tim Hortons Ham and swiss (plain on whole wheat)
m2) legume salad (same as yesterday)
m3) 1c ff yogurt
m4) chicken, yams and chinese cabbage
PWO shake
m5) ff cottage cheese + glutamine b4 bed
~meals are a little off today due to the holiday and visiting family and such....., macro's may be o.k though, dunno?

Today's cardio: 20mins Elliptical set on valley (start at level 6 and work down to level 1 in the first 10, then climb back up to level 6 for the last 10) definitely working a sweat by minute 7, lol!!

So a great day, and soooooo loving the 20min cardio too.....I will not have any reason to not fit in my cardio this month, lol!!

Default Day3 - Low Day

Day 3 and all is well so far. Things will go off the rails tomorrow for a bit as my mother is doing an early birthday party for my little guy......eat's will most likely be pizza or KFC and oh yes, birthday cake

Ah well, nobody said it was going to be easy, lol!!

So before I get held up any further (I've been away from my pc for about 90mins since starting this post.....had to go play outside for a bit, lol!!) On with today's stuff!

Flat bench BB Press: 3x8-10@75
OH BB Press: 3x8-10@45
Modified Knee Raise: 3x10@25 (modified here b/c I do not own a roman chair....I put my bench on an incline hold on top part above my head with myhands while raising my knees in a similar motion to roman chair.....though it seems alot harder than a roman chair too.....I guess it's the angle?)

today's cardio: treadmill running @ 4.6mph for 20mins.

today's eats:

m1) 4 ew
m2) 3oz tuna
m3) 2c greens with 3oz tuna, flax oil and apple cider vinegar

Ah well.......can't get the color thingy to agree with me today again......dunno what that's all about but plain ol' b+w is just sooooo boring to me, lol!!

Anyhoo......got one birthday celebration meal done away with!! We had lots of fun.....and oh yeah, so did the kids, lol!! My mom loves to do this for the kids, it's her little way of giving back to us grown up kids, through our own children.
Eats were well........birthdayish of course.......I had 2 slices of pizza (meatlovers) and a slice of birthday cake.....so not too bad really considering, lol!!

Got my workout done too.....really loving this 'no excuses' program this month......I think it'll be a real shoe in for me!

Low2

Wide grip lullips: 2x6(negatives)
Bent BB Rows: 3x12@40
Side Delt Raises:3x10@15
DB Shrugs:3x8@25e
Preacher Curl (SS) Nose Crushers (DB)3x10@15

Eats:
calling it an 'off' day as it's nothing according to plan at all today....

m1) chicken breast on ww toast with lettuce and tomatoe
m2) 11 almonds
m3) pwo shake
m4) 2 slices of meatlovers pizza, slice of cake, diet coke
m5) protein n' water + glutamine b4 bed
~no m6 today.......

Will be leaving town tomorrow and coming back sometime Monday to face yet ANOTHER pizza birthday party for my boy Then Tuesday is his offical birthday and I'll be doing something for him that day too....'cept it will ONLY be the cake that will be 'bad', lol!!

Anyhoo have a great week-end everyone!!

I'm really beginning to have issues with this color thingy here

Week-end was comme ci/comme ca....in other words, it rained 50% of the time and was sunny the other. I did a wee bit of landscapiong but not too much, I'm trying to cut it back to every other week-end I do heavy labour. I feel it's more fair for the kids that way, at least I can play and hang around their little pool on my off week-ends, lol!! I love being a kid alongside them I have just one more birthday dinner as today is my little guy's 'offical' birthday......eats will be clean, but there IS cake, I made it and defatted it as best I could, but it's still cake to me, lol!! Yesterday was pizza again at my in-laws for them to celebrate my son's birthday.....so pizza, and a small cupcake and a little icecream ......ah well, what's a gal to do? I kept eats clean enough over the week-end, but not according to plan unfortunately.....things just didn't pan out that way......gonna be able to plan way better for next week-end since there won't be any birthdays to worry about, lol!! Just the leftover cake, lol!!
Feeling good.....I think I'm looking good too.....I'm really seeing some good definition in my arms, the shape of them is really starting come through....woot!! I just love this stuff, I really DO!!

m5) protein n' water + glutamine b4 bed.

so that's been it so far........now the task of catching up with the boards.....what have I missed.....anything, lol!?

Oh yay, the color thingy is on my side today, lol!! I don't know why but I just enjoy writing in color....I'm like that in hard copy as well......I use a red pen most often.......just more interesting, I think.
So I had a s-m-a-l-l-ish piece of cake this afternoon.... It was post workout, if that counts for anything.....couldn't be helped. After all these high carb birthday celebrations I feel somewhat 'hooked' now and am craving the stuff......grrr Ah well.....this too shall pass, it's not like I don't already know this about myself either.....just means I gotta push it a little more to burn the excess, lol!!

Not much going on in Lizzyland (lol!) these days......the house we bought for our cottage is increasingly turning out to be a money pit house, but I sort of suspected it would be too......tore up the carpets in the hallway and bedrooms and revealed old fashioned tiles.....the kind that you need a shovel to pull up and possibly a propane torch too....ugh, I suspect when we pull those up we'll find that we need new plywood too......the house has had ALOT of water damage so we're trying to fix that up......we'll definintely be putting a whole new roof before summer's end that's for sure........I say we are almost at the point where tearing it down and rebuilding a pre-fab home is gonna be the better option. I am seriously hoping and praying that is 150% better after we get it all sorted out, as it is I am unable to be in the house longer than 15mins before my ears start plugging up and aching........we'll see, it'll be a true test of my allergies that's for sure!!

Anyhoo....just crappy rain here this week, and colder than normal temps too.....but my garden is doing amazingly awesome!!! I can't wait to harvest everything

Day2 - Low3: 4x10 - heavy

Peck Deck: 4x10@37.5, 40,40,40
Tricep Pushdown: 4x10 @ 34.5,34.5,32,32
Cable Hero Curls: 4x10@12.5
Rear Delt Raises: 4x10@8
Full Sit Ups: 2x10

today's cardio: 20mins HIIT using elliptical: 60secs w/ 180sec recovery

today's eats:
m1) 4 ew, cayenne
m2) 3oz tuna
m3) 2c mixed greens 3oz tuna, 2tbs flax oil, applecider vinegar
m4) pwo shake and a 1/4c sized pc of birthday cake
m5) 5-6oz eye of round steak, broccoli and spinach salad
m6) protein n' water + glutamine b4 bed

So this is/was my today....great workout and I can say my arms are feeling like rubber now esp., my triceps, lol!!

Default Day3 - High1: Circuit

Well at least it's sunny and warm here today.....all that rain gets a little much!!
Things are chugging right along I guess you could say......I think I'll make it through the month and be o.k, lol! When it comes to birthday season around here I tend to think like all the cakes will set me back and cause me tostall or even gain fat......but I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror yesterday wearing my least favorite w/o pants....they are grey and I've always felt they were unflattering....grey afterall IS pretty unforgiving Well I was pleasantly surprised to see that I am looking solid and tight in those pants as opposed to how I felt in the past wearing them (loose and flabby, lol!!) I'm quite pleased with how my quads are shaping up, and I've actually got hammies now, lol!! Even my glute/ham area is changing shape on me....I am sooooo stoked, because compared to last year's leaning.....I am feeling fantastic physically, I don't really know what the difference is either but whatever it is I sure am NOT complaining

Day3 - High1 - Circuit: 3x10

Squat Leaps @10lb plate
Burpees to Chins
Ball Push-Up to Pike

Crunches 10x10@ bw, 2.5, 3, 5, 8, 10, 12.5, 15, 20, 25

today's cardio: 20mins treadmill program: max speed 3.5mph max incline 8% changing up every 60secs
~took it easy with cardio since yesterdays HIIT (I went intense, my own fault) kept my heart racing while I was trying to go to sleep last night

Today's eats: high carb
m1) apple w/ pb, banana
m2) ff yogurt and PWO shake
m3) legume salad w/ flax oil and applecider vinegar
m4) hummus and broccoli
m5) turkey patties, yam, spinach steamed (I got mixed up on the days for dinner, so this started out as a low carb dinner in the planning.....hopefully the yam will make up for it.....I could use green beans instead of the spinach too I guess?)

Looks like we'll be heading out on Saturday which is cool by me as far as workouts go......I'll be able to get in one more before the weekend and then the 20mins cardio aspect is easy to pick up anywhere I go.....anywho, my rolling with it attitude is paying off so far and I am still being rewarded with results too
