I can tell it's about time I got back to your journal so I can help everyone keep you pepped up and energized. GG - you are DOING IT THIS TIME!!! Hear me?! You look amazing and just as you've read, plleeeaazzee trust the process and don't go crazy on your cardio or you're going to come in way too lean. Just as Toonces said, this isn't bodybuilding. No leg striations!
Also, it is AWESOME that you're still going up in weight on your exercises. That can be tough to do when you're in contest prep. Heck, I just plateaued on an off-season muscle building program and I'm eating plenty! So, remember to be kind to yourself and give yourself props.

Hello! and thank you for being so supportive and lovely again! I will trust the process and just do what I'm sposed to and how I come in is how I come in, I'm sure I'll be stoked no matter what!
I had Friday night in bed so I could kick this cold in the teef Its just a cold though, I'm not all achy or anything so I can workout through it pretty good! having a blocked nose is just annoying though :P
I finished my routine but I just didnt get a chance to film it properly for you guys! I've thrown in a shout in there, that always makes things fun, you cant "HOOOO" and stay uptight after all :P
I did a bunch of light cardio, I watched some dark angels, some narutos, and some heroses, I even watched the Herbie with Lindsay Lohan! WHAT A CUTE MOVIE!! hehehe
I'm feeling positive still! But a little un-motivated this week, I've read everything that was ever on the internet about competing in figure. I'm kinda looking forward to it being over, I'm going to see my suit tonight, so that's a little bit exciting! (slash heaps lots!)
whenever I phase out on the cardio I'm always imagining myself just before I go on stage thinking about how I really did it and how proud I am of myself. *sniff sniff* It means though that I cant remember what the thing was I was just watching :P And I know that the next 4 and a bit weeks are really going to fly by, looking back at the last 9 or whatever it was, it really doesn't seem like that long.
Besides, I get a whole week off work in 3 weeks!! hehehehe
nnnjeleous?

~ Born To Shine ~: Why compete in a figure competition???
WHY COMPETE IN A FIGURE COMPETITION!?!?!
Competing changed my life... and the thing is looking back... Tony knew it would. It didn't all happen with that first competition, but that is certainly where I took off. I went back and forth with Tony about competing. I told him many times I couldn't do it... not with the stretch marks... not with the skin... but he knew the anxiety that was stopping me from competing was anxiety that was holding me back in life. If he could get me to stick with it... if he could get me up on that stage I would step off a different person.
It's not about the judges... it's not about a placing... it's not about bikini's... or protein... or even 5 inch heels... it's not about bling bling... it's not even about the muscle or the workouts. It's about all of that and so much more. It's about becoming a figure competitor, it's about the beauty, the poise, the discipline, the pride, the strength, the perseverence...it changes the way you feel inside...it sets you apart, and yet you are a part of something huge, something only a competitor can understand. You would think competing is about setting yourself above the rest. I haven't found that place for me... competing for me is about competing against me. Almost like I am alone on that stage.
When I stand up on that stage entire journey flashes before my eyes... the times in the gym when I couldn't get the weight up, and the times when I did. The times when the tears rush down my face, and the times when I laugh my azz off. Today I was thinking there is nothing like feeling the squeeze of the rear delt and knowing that you are hitting it just right. I was thinking there is no better high then the high I get when I'm in the gym, my muscle is doing what my mind puts forth. I was thinking about how some days are wax on/wax off... and some days are the winning knock out.
The day I stepped off that stage is the day I began feeling like that part of something huge. I was a competitor... my workouts changed... my discipline changed... I became a gym junkie. I couldn't get enough of the iron... you can't just say you are a figure competitor... you will become one if you walk the journey.
Not a day goes by that I regret my journey. Not a day goes by that I don't feel the competitor nagging at me. I will forever be a figure competitor... I will forever feel the beauty of who I am, I stand with poise, I live with discipline, I feel pride, I live strong... I persevere...
Follow a competitor to the stage, take your own journey... I don't care who you are... you will never be the same. You may struggle with how you've changed, those around you will struggle with how you've changed... but you'll never go back... I promise you that.

Hello everyone! The cold ended up getting the better of me! I'm just going to get checked it out and make sure its no Swiney - I'm sure it's not though! Even if it is I'm still gonna compete
I've lost my appettite and even though I havent trained over the last couple of days I'm actually looking better! haha I'm keeping up my fluids and protein intake and eating some bits of brown pasta still to give myself some energy to get better, but its hard to eat that stuff when you're not hungry, and I'm probably not eating enough to crank Mr Immune System so I might feast up and sleep up today and regen so that this weekend when I'm exactly 4 weeks out I can floor it!
Works been awesome! They are so supportive and wonderful!

Hello!
Well I havent moved from bed this week! I started getting my appetite back last night so I think I might be on my way though! Hopefully I can start training again tomorrow. I'm really just trying to keep positive about losing this week so:
#1 - I was exhausted anyway! now I will be recharged to go extra hard these last few weeks!
#2 - I put my suit fitting off for a week - so now it will fit even better!
#3 - Theres a possibility of putting muscle ON while you're resting! !
#4 - I'll be even more proud of myself still going in it when I sort of had a 'good excuse' opportunity to give up!
4s not too bad! I'll try and think of some more

I spent the last few hours (litterally!) looking up what the hell to do for peak week. I have now read bodybuilding.coms entire article website :P well ok not quite!
It seems the whole world is undecided as to what works, and I can only assume that that is because its different for everyone, and trying things is probably the only way to work out what works - so for a first time, sticking with 'the norm' is probably the best way to go about it.
Which I *think* is a little something like this:
Sunday: Low Carbs but have salt and drink 5 litres of water - massive
hardcore cardio
Monday:Low carbs and salt and drink 4 litres of water - massive
hardcore full body - only lower body is hamstrings and calves -
stupidly high reps to deplete glycogen (yeah that sorta sounds like the word)
Tuesday: No carbs still, less salt and 3 litres of water - full body
workout no lower body but focus on abs shoulders and calves - stupidly
high reps
Wednesday: No gym - just cardio - have half a sweeet potato for carbs- no salt
2 litres water
Thursday: same, but a whole one spaced out over the day in meals, also
massive posing and routine practice 1 litre water
Friday: sips of water only, massive flexing fest posing practice, go
to the weigh in thingy and eat some rice crackers with peanut butter on
up until 5:00pm take diurettic tonight
Saturday: Sips of water and snack food only (like choc coated raisins
or rice cakes) Red wine 30 minutes before going on stage
my dogs trying so hard to stay away and shes swaying over!! heheheeeeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEE
so does that sound about right? Cause that's the gist I got! I'm tired and fluey and there were A LOT of words to read... but that kinda what I got out of it!
I'm feeling soooo much better today! not 1005 so I'm not pushing it! but I've sat up in bed almost all day today, I havent slept yet! I even got up to tidy up a bit! I ran through my routine (at low impact :P) and did some posing - I dont seem to have gone backwards which is nice - but I just lost a week of progress, not to bad an outcome for something so hardcore I reckon! AND! Good sign I'm getting better, I have my appetite back! NOM NOM NOM! I might carb it up today and then start acting from tomorrow like I was never sick at all! Hopefully my metabolism will have sped back up a little after me being asleep for the last three days. If not I'll help it with twice a day cardio and regular meals
Once I run out of the premade chicken and brown rices I'ma ditch the brown rice and go with broccolli for my carbs - i dont know why but it seems like everyone on the internet and in real life thinks Broccoli and Chicken is the key to the last four weeks. I remember Angel saying it can make you gassy though and has a crap load of sodium - but I havent been sodiuming it up much, so hopefully it will just make the whole depleting thing in 3 weeks work better?
I dont know!
My left sinus swole and is blocking my eye! have you even heard of such weirdities!?!

Damn! Tried going to the gym this morning. It's amazing how much muslce you can lose and fat you can put on in one week of sleeping! Very depressing. Still I tried my hardest even though a couple of times I had to stop the treadmill and sit on it (well I HAVE been in bed for a week I guess)
Still, cant help but feel like all my effort was wasted in these past 9 weeks. It's hard not to get down. I'm going to have to go really hard just to get back to where I was before, and there is less than 4 weeks left, so that's a bit ghey.
I wont get to get rid of my bum :\ wah!

Besides me! You can cry cause you had to have a week off! In case you've conveniently forgotten 6 pack girl had a grapefruit sized cyst on her ovary and couldnt work out like 3 weeks before her comp and still went in it and was still awesome so you seriously have nothing to winge about. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and kick some ass!

Thanks Wil Varbs and Raijin the patience master :P
With your help, a good cry and thinking about 6 pack girl, I was totally inspired this morning, I worked so hard I could hardly get my leg over the seat of that hammer strength thingy. Then I ran at my fastest ever for about 15 minutes, and then went and did some posing in the 'class' room.
When i got to work I found out a couple of girls I would have been competing with have dropped out - they didnt even get the flu, they were just too exhausted and run down! so I feel bad for them, but I also dont feel so bad for taking the whole flu thing so hard (cause I was beating myself up about being a doochbag) so now I'm awesome so go ahead anyway and keeping myself inspired when it takes less to make other people give up. I feel like I'm a bit mentally stronger than I thought! so that's awesome!
Every rep today was met with a 'third last of this back work out... EVER' not that I hate it Raij but... I hate it :P in a good way!
I'm REAAALY looking forward to third last BOSU ever, or last last BOSU ever. I'm going to buy one just so I can stab it! Although I am excited about leg days this week cause I'm going to try those new ham glute raise things Raij showed me!
My legs we so sore from cardio last night I found it hard to sleep! it was awesome
I've tweaked my diet to ultra hardcore. It's really easy while I don't have an appetite! :P and probably because of my rest too.
I've lost a bit of water and I think a lot of my de-progress was actually water (see how I sound like I'm making excuses? :P) but I have the best abs I'd ever had ever last night and best legs ever too... perhaps I did put on some size while I was resting and taking in all that protein?
yeah
maybe I did
:P

Thank you so much guys!!
Well, 18 days to go, that doesnt sound like much. Seems like the other day I looked at the countdown and it said 83 days to go.
I have to say, when you read people mention 'moodiness', 'short temperedness', 'tiredness', 'exhaustion', and the fact that the last 4 weeks are 'tough'. You never really think about it. You go 'ah yeah I can imagine it'll be hard blah blah. But... it really is hard! It is one of the hardest things I have ever done (dont quote me on that in hindsight!) and to me, last week took just as long as the 9ish weeks before that. This weekend took forever, this morning.... a year! As glad as I am that I did this and I have done it.... by gum me hearties... I CANT WAIT FOR IT TO BE OVER!
I cant wait to be myself again! Smiling positive GG who laughs with all her energy and cant wait to jump out of bed in the mornings!
I have some cool photos to show you guys with two maaaaaaaaaaaasive veins on my pelvis and an awesome one of my bum progress.
You know what though, and you're not allowed to quote me on this in hindsight either, but, I think I'd prefer the big bum...
hahaha
I just gotta get through these next couple of weeks and I've done it!! come on tiiiime! come ooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I so hear you! Still recovering and am already a month away and done from mine.
I decided to take next year off but now am thinking about how I want to do a FAME routine for next year....but maybe I will just prep it for the 2011 show, even though FAME comes out this year and will probably be done many times by then........I just loooooove the words.
You have to show me the pics.....I cannot wait.....or maybe they are posted here, I will look around.
