Attention Barbie Griffin fans   #114099

This is my first post, so please forgive any errors -- I'm not sure if I have to copy the entire contents of Imagevenue's "clickable thumbnail" box or need to trim it down when pasting into the JavaScript "image" box for this forum.

I know that posting simply to draw attention to another thread isn't normally helpful, but unless you carefully use this site's search feature (not a bad idea, in itself) you probably missed a treasure trove of Barbie Griffen photos. At least, there have been only 9 responses, as of this message, to the thread "Fembomb videos with Peer2Mail program." And most of them have been about the Fembomb.

It derserves much more, and I owe deadofnight a beer or six. After collecting dribs and drabs of Barbie Griffin, here and there, I stumbled on this only to find that he's posted instructions for retrieving some 3500 photos (many of which I've never seen even samples of) and three videos. I'm going to attempt to post a couple of samples from just two of the 50 or so files available.

Yes, it's complicated. But while I'm no computer geek I can read and follow directions. And although I'm paranoid about viruses, I've used Download.com for my AdAware program and trusted it for the mail program and the rar extractor. Both worked like charms.

You need to:
1) Go to the thread.
2) Read it carefully.
3) Download the Peer2Mail program.
4) Run that program.
5) Click on the Gmail link.
6) Enter deadofnight's id and password (yes, the password includes all the slashes, etc.).
7) Check for "All Mail."
8) One by one, click on the attachments (not of the bouncebacks).
9) One by one, right click (important - right) on the download links and hit "Save Target As" to copy it to your computer, until you've copied as many as you want.
10) If you don't have one, download the free rar extractor from the link listed in that thread.
11) Run the extractor and drag your downloaded picture file into its window.
12) Extract and enjoy.

Thanks, buddy; well worth the trouble.

deadofnight's set-up works perfectly. I have all the Fembomb, so I went straight to the Barbie stuff as well. We are all in debt to the dead, for his obsession bore fruit for many of us Barbie fans...and yep cbgb (I used to hit that place years ago), your post was A-1.

Hm. Why do I get the impression that the above steps are trying to do something in a way that is far more complicated than it actually should be? (I.e., doing something MediaQue handles much easier) What am I missing here?

They could always be posted to a.b.f.d usenet. It's old-school, but it works like a champ.

If you just checked the Barbie Griffen files sometime between Dec. 21 at around 7 pm and now, Dec. 22 7:40 pm, you should check them again. It appears someone forwarded a batch of sets, and when he tried to trash his forwards he sent the whole conversation as well. I moved the seven sets, spread between three attachments, back into the inbox.

Is MediaQue some kind of download manager? Several "Download" links can be found on a single page, so you might be able to easily use a Download Manager. I tried using Download Accelerator Plus, but all that would get qued up was a 100 byte file. Left-clicking the "Download" link seems to sign you out. You can try other download methods, but so far Right-Clicking "Download" is the only way I know that works.

On a side note, a couple weeks ago Dhomo posted a link to several Francine Dee galleries. I got one, and then when out. The next time I checked the site it was no longer up. I uploaded the one set I got, outdoor, to kickasskarate; the account with the Barbie files. If anyone wants to send the others, or any other full sets you might have of Francine, to the address that'd be great. Two things you should keep in mind though. The attachment limit is somewhere around 14 MB. I made RAR splits at 13.5 MB to be safe.

The other is to protect your privacy. If you mail me something your e-mail address is going to be in the "From:" field, so everyone could possibly see it. I set up a filter so e-mails can be sent straight to the Trash section. When an account is viewed inside Peer2Mail the Trash section cannot be accessed, so no one will be able to see the sender's address. I'll then download the files, and resend them with the already known address. Be sure to include:

hide

in the subject of your e-mail. There's about 275 MB left in kickasskarate, and just add @gmail.com to it. Thanks.

Mediaque essentially downloads files in sequence, so for example:

BarbieGriffin01.jpg
BarbieGriffin02.jpg
BarbieGriffin03.jpg
BarbieGriffin04.jpg
BarbieGriffin05.jpg

The above five would be captured with MediaQue given the encoding, BarbieGriffin[01,05].jpg or something similar. It works great. There are a number of threads that explain it.

Hey deadofnight, I'm not usually awake at this time but it was good to see your feedback. In response to your questions, MediaQueue will download an enormous sequence of images, and do it all in the background while you work on other tasks, but it only funtions where there is a numerical sequence on an accessible website that you can define within brackets []. The defined sequence has to come just before the .jpg.

If you find a website with a bunch of pictures, right click on a few and check the properties to see if they're sequential. Imagevenue, for instance, is not readily accessible by MediaQueue since it assigns the urls so randomly. (You could set it retrieve a single image, but that would defeat the purpose of the program.)

As an example, if you go to themiloscorner.us, click on "pictures," then "Dalene Kurtis," then click on the first one in the series, when you check the properties you find the address is http://www.themiloscorner.us/Dalene%20Kurtis/001.jpg. The last one in the series is 041, so the MQ code would be www.themiloscorner.us/Dalene%20Kurtis/[001,041].jpg. And sometimes, if you set the last number higher, you discover more images that aren't shown on the page.

(Of course, when I just tested this it only downloaded the first 15 images. I had to go back to discover that the pics of Dalene were coded for Amber Evans:
http://www.themiloscorner.us/Amber%20Evans/[016,041].jpg.)

Do check out the MediaQueue thread. It's about 35 pages now but the first few were enough to walk me through downloading and trying it.

And as far as the Francine Dee pics, if you're talking about these

I zipped a set of 41 (not in very good order) and sent it to
Francine Dee zip

Absolutely incredible!! I'm a huge (.)(.) Barbie Griffin fan and those photo sets are great. I've never seen some of those sets before. A big thanks and much gratitude to cbgb & deadofnight for their work.

I know most of the sets from M&B and Blue Fantasies are at least a year or two old. Does anyone know if she has done any new stuff recently?
